You have to have at least 1 year of experience in the selected NOC. Your experience is in other NOCs.ifkay said:Seeking Employment as: 2173 Software engineers and designers
Any clues why I'm getting rejected?
If youe experience is in NOC 2171, and 4012, that is the primary NOC you should use. If you use any other NOC, the system reads it as though your are applying under an NOC where you have no previous experience. Try that and lets see.ifkay said:Hi guys, I'm trying for express entry and my profile turns out ineligible each time I try to apply.
I have just completed my PhD at a Swiss university. We are employed (41 hours per week) for the duration of our PhD and get a decent salary. We are required to assist courses each semester while working on our research.
So here are the details:
Education: PhD
Age: 34
Work experience: 6 years TA/RA (NOC: 4012, 41 hours per week) + 2 years before the PhD and masters (NOC 2171).
Seeking Employment as: 2173 Software engineers and designers
IELTS = Listening 9.0, Reading 7.0, Writing 7.5, Speaking 8.5
Money > 40k CAD
Any clues why I'm getting rejected?
Thanks in advance.
EDIT: I have no Canadian education or work experience.
PHD: Switzerland, Masters: England, Bachelors: Pakistan
Same result. I guess I have to get my credentials assessed first.Encore said:If youe experience is in NOC 2171, and 4012, that is the primary NOC you should use. As under your profile, you were a CEC applicant and it's not mandatory to have ECA beforehand if you suffice the other requirement in its criteria, which mainly 1 year Canadian experience. But OP doesn't have any Canadian experience, he must have it ready to be eligible as an FSW candidate.res1 said:I didn't do assessment beforehand. I did it after creating EE profile, but before entering the EE pool. That shouldn't be the cause of you being ineligible.
Generally, both the language test and ECA have to be done before you create your profile, as they ask you to include WES report number when cating your profile.ifkay said:Same result. I guess I have to get my credentials assessed first.
EDIT: I think I'll just wait a couple of months for the provisional confirmation of my phd award and then submit to WES for assessment.
Thanks for all the help everyone.
It was in Computer Science (Software Systems).deadbird said:@Ifkay what was your PhD in ?
That's exactly what I plan on doing, but have to wait for the Degree now. I only have confirmation from the department at the moment. I'll give it a try sometime in October if all goes well.Andre_Smol said:Generally, both the language test and ECA have to be done before you create your profile, as they ask you to include WES report number when cating your profile.
