Hello,
I have a multiple entry visitor visa that expires on 2nd of April 2018. I am planning to visit canada on March 28th and stay until April 3rd, so 1 day after the visa expires. I have two questions that I couldn't find anywhere else.
1. Am I allowed to enter canada on a visa that is about to expire? or is there a minimum duration(say 3-6 months before expiry date) on the visa to allow entry?

2. would staying past the expiry date on the visa cause me any problems in renewing the visa on the long run?(I know you can stay up to 6 months from entry, or whatever the officer decides) please correct me if mistaken.

Thanks in advance.

Hi

1. Yes, you can enter.

2. The validity of your visa has nothing to do with status in Canada.
