"Just got a problem with people saying a potential suffering like it is the end of the world if you can't get canadian citizenship. "

Yes lets say that to nearly 300,000 applicants who are in queue and close their citizenship application files, just like what was done in 2008 for PR applications. Not the end of the world ofcourse and the backlog will be clear instantly. True even the comatose person has something to look for, so no its not the end of the world.
The difference between PR and canadian citizenship is that PR have to wait for months to be able to legally stay / work in Canada. Thus I can understand the suffering of having to wait and it can be the end of the world in their thoughts if they were denied PR.

People applying for citizenship, can still work at another job and still be able to enter Canada if per chance they were denied citizenship or want to apply for jobs overseas. It is not the end of the world if they can't or have to delay getting citizenship.

You are comparing apples and oranges here between applying for PR and citizenship.

I think the people awaiting PR to complete would be insulted by you comparing their suffering to the suffering of those awaiting citizenship.

So is somebody (CIC) going to cover the costs due to lost income from lost opportunities.
let me share an example with you all as if I am explaining to a Grade 1 student.

Mike is finishing his Bachelor of Science in Engineering this year.He has a gpa 4/4.And he wants to apply for Msc at MIT or Harvard.
He is planning to apply for citizenship in september 2015 and get his passport in september 2016 or in the begining of 2017.

Why would he change his career plans, since I think almost none of the politicians and CIC officials are able to do Msc (master of science) in engineering at MIT,?

according to the new law he is probably going to get his canadian passport in september 2018.

Nobody should *censored word* with somebody else`s future.Even the government. It will backfire one day.

you know what I mean? People who do not know *censored word* more than me should not be able to change my career plans and future.

Nothing is stopping him from getting his education overseas. He can apply when he is back in Canada and meet the 4/6 year rule and residency rule.

He will have his Masters when he get back and hey look! He can still re-enter Canada and find a job. Hmmm not being a Canadian has not stopped him from coming back to Canada as PR?

I understand his situation but maintaining his PR status is his responsibility. He is lucky to have PR in Canada. How long does a masters take? 2 years? 3 years? He can still complete his masters in US and still maintain PR status of 2 year out of 5.

if people always say "hey we are lucky to be in Canada" of course people,in this case the government, can play with them and have power over them.

he is not the only "lucky" one.Remember, there are more people, who were born outside Canada, with PHDs than canada born.If all educated immigrants go away, you`ll just see fishermen and rednecks here (mostly)

People love obeying rules blindly, man! (I am not saying to you personally)

Yes I agree that a lot of immigrants have PhDs. Usually that is the case when jobs are scarce and population sizes are huge. Therefore high education means a chance to get the jobs. The higher the education you have, the better the chance you get a job. For example, India. You wouldn't get anywhere high paying job unless you have multiple degrees to beat out competition to get the jobs.

Take here in Canada. Having a high school diploma is no longer the norm to get a minimum wage job now. Now you need a degree to get any jobs including minimum wage jobs. High school diploma people are getting push out by grad students.

then people wonder why people leave canada or prefer USA to canada when they become citizens.Because of these stupid mistakes the government makes.

Personally,If I get a job in Germany or in the US or in China,I`ll leave canada and see how life is in those countries with my canadian passport and yes! canadian passport is a leverage in this example.

Don't agree to that. If you are white then don't need any education. Even can lie about your degrees.

let`s not separate people by race but rather by their education level and abilities.

what I get angry at is people who do not have better abilities than some people can change other people`s lives.

I bet a lot of CIC officials and people in the government cannot solve (x^3+x^4+3)/ squareroot ( x^2+3x+1) or tell me 5 germanic gods from the history.

Don't you mean "if you are a non-white minority female with a physical disability" will you get a better chance on getting a job thanks to affirmative actions / quotas.

The division is more like, the old ones vs the new ones.
The new ones don't have good opportunities for success compared to what used to be.

The government just want to keep more heads in the country. They know how much people are leaving short after the oath. This is how the government admits that something is wrong here but they will never say it directly because the image of Canada will be very hurt.
