I am back after a five month stint in Edmonton Canada,
I just wanted to share with the fantastic forum, the details of GROUP
which we have formed in EDMONTON.
We are group of about fifteen families from all walk of life, Dentists, Civil Engineers,
Mechanical Engineers, Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Child Care workers, PHD's and so on
we have held each others hands and worked as a group to achieve the following
1) 100% people of our GROUP have secured their first job in first 45 Days
2) Even about three to four people changed their jobs to procure better jobs in first month of the Job itself.
3) We helped each other in getting Rented accommodations.
4) We helped each other in shifting premises.
5) One of us purchased a HOUSE in edmonton (Yes within 3 Months of landing)
6) Seven of us purchased CARS there
we researched as one, we marched forward as a Unit, we stood and weathered the situations as One.

If you have not jet buyed tickets, look up for a KLM connection from Amsterdam directly to Edmonton.
If you are comming from Asia there should also be some direct flight to Edmonton.

yeah, KLM is providing the best route from South Asia if someone wants edmonton as a POE.
We are coming on 11th Feb 2016 and our route is KHI>AUH>AMS>YEG

It effects on health card as defined by senior members of forum...it took avg 3-4 months in getting health card if ur POE is Ontario unlike Alberta which provides you health card within a month or two.

Why you choosed first half of February as a landing time (11 th to be precise ).
February is too coold month inspite of the world-wide / global climate change, if I am not misstaken?

If you go to Alberta as a province than your first POE should be some city in Alberta (health card/bebefits - related)

Is there any member who have recently landed at YEG? Share the experience with us.

Since, we are landing on a family class sponsorship- do they ask POF? I knw.. POF is not required in family class.. but just curious.. as we are not thinking to carry cash in hand..other than necessities ?

Will they ask about sponsor like whether he/she currently living in canada or not? Even if we have a valid residential address of canada?

I'll be very grateful if someone could answer it
