Here is one of the most Success Story of Successful Immigrants:

Immigrant Nadir Mohamed named CEO of Rogers Communications
May 26, 2011 3

Rogers Communications Inc. has just promoted Tanzanian immigrant Nadir Mohamed, to chief executive officer. Mohamed will replace Ted Rogers, who died last year.

Mohamed, 52, will begin immediately. He has been with Rogers since August 2000 and first joined the organization as president and chief operating officer. He came to Rogers from Telus Inc. and since then has risen in the ranks from president and CEO of Rogers Wireless Inc. to president and chief operating officer of the communications division.

According to reports, the board unanimously agreed to his appointment. As for who’ll replace Mohamed’s previous position, the company spokesperson denied to comment.

Mohamed is also on the board of Rogers Communications, the board of governors for Ryerson University and TD Bank Financial Group.

Mohamed grew up in Tanzania where his father started a hardware business. His family moved there from India. According to a Globe and Mail article, Mohamed shared the following early memories of Canada:

“One of the big treats for any kid in East Africa was having a stubby Coke bottle with salted peanuts thrown in.”

His family has been an important part of his life

“I am incredibly blessed to be part of the family I grew up in,” he said. “They moved under very difficult circumstances and you grow up around that and I think it teaches you a lot.”

His background as an Ismaili Muslim has also helped him.

“One of the key ethics of that Ismaili community is volunteering,” said Mohamed. “As a kid you learn very quickly to be part of committees and leading projects and initiatives, whether it is fundraising or helping out with elders.”

Sky is the limit ...yet most immigrants wish to believe that finding a professional job is near impossible in Canada. Nothing is impossible..
in fact the word itself says "i'm possible" :P.

South gate or century park. Close to LRT, Town centre, good school and university.

Millwoods towncenter has good connectivity by bus with all places in Edmonton. Also rent is cheaper than Southgate. Most of Asians lives there. Future LRT also planned from Millwoods to Down town via West Edmonton Mall.
