Yes, I know that it would be beginning of winter. Can you tell me some thing about initial survival in Edmonton. How to get a survival job and is it enough to maintain a small family.

Actually I am not sure about survival jobs here. I came to Canada with a job (Civil Engineer) and applied for PR under AINP. Monthly expenses will be around $3000/=pm including house rent.

No idea, for new commers there are, Bredin, Mannonite and workabilities and MG group. for regular job consultings there must be different specialised in different field. Insurance, Banking, Finance, Oil and gas all have seperate agencies. google it. Share if you find any.
