Hi Guys,

I have been on this forum for quite a long time, now more than a year. Recently, I have seen people getting really anxious and impatient about the Visa. So, I thought of sharing few thoughts of mine and invite fellow experienced members to put in their view to help out the people who are waiting to hear from their local CHC regarding anything.

First of all I would like to mention that you should search around for time lines for people who have received the visas. You will have a fair idea about how the CHC communicates, when it communicates, how much time it takes for every step and so on. A lot of people seem to be wanting to email to the local CHC asking about their application status.

Now, first of all I think that the CHC is functioning really well since the NOC List came out in late 2008. The new processing time lines are small but still CHC takes their time to work things out. Secondly, don't ever think that CHC is sleeping on your case except for some cases on which the CHC is really sleeping (like for rockyrocky27). As I mentioned before you need to do a quite good amount of research to get an idea of the CHC time lines from the people who have already got the Visa.

There has been a surge in the posts where people have shown their desire to email CHC to know the status of their application. I would strongly suggest NOT TO EMAIL CHC so casually. It's Canadian Immigration Department and not a customer care of a mobile company. They might be answering you back but those are just pre formatted answers. The more you disturb them with your emails, the more disturbed they will get. Now, I am not claiming this but when you email CHC it shows that you are getting impatient and indirectly questioning the working of CHC.

I will say "Have Patience". Patience is they key to your visa. I will talk about my time line. I submitted full docs to CHC New Delhi on 21st May 2009. On June 13th I got the RPRF DD back saying that they could not encash it. I went and got the DD made from another bank and sent it on 14th June. I then received the DD back on 27th June telling me that they cannot encash it since there is no issuing bank name on it. Now, I am not sure why they said so because the DD clearly mentioned HDFC Bank. So, I went and got the DD made again with HDFC Stamp on it and sent it. Thanks to God, this time the DD was accepted. In late July I received a letter asking for clarification over my master's degree. I sent the clarification on August 17th. After that it was a long long wait. But, I never gave up. I never let my patience run out. Whenever I thought I was going to lose it, I just prayed to god and controlled myself. I didn't emailed CHC asking what they are doing. I knew sending an email will bother them unnecessarily. I used to check my E-cas and all that I saw every day was "In Process - Application Received". It is frustrating, you know that. But, don't give up. I waited and waited and waited. I believed in CHC's working and finally in mid November one day my E-cas changed to "Interview scheduled on 3rd December". I just jumped with joy on seeing that change in the E-cas. I gave my interview. I then received the medical request late December. In that they mentioned that they have already asked for my passport but haven't got it. So, I need to send it. Somehow I didn't get their letter asking for passport earlier. But, that's ok. I sent it and then waited for some news. On 26th Jan, my E-cas said "Decision Made" and in the evening I got my Visa.

Now, the time lines depend on lots of things - your NOC, educational records, employment history and lots of other considerations. Every case is different. Every case has its' unique time line. Your case is unique too. No one can tell you how much time it will take. Your case creates its own unique time line. Don't give up. Don't lose your patience. CHC IS WORKING. Just have faith in God and believe that things will happen the right way. Trust me, the more you believe and pray, the sooner things will happen. :)

Thanks.

Hi, If this is not a privacy issue for you .. please post the JD you have put in your application. This will be helpful for all 0213 candidates. These days most of the applications are being rejected because of improper JD's. There are lot of experts who have put the 0213 link, so need not copy paste from the NOC list over here. What you have mentioned in your application will be helpful.

nice post blue boy bt here i disagree tht initiating enquiry make them frustrated. We need to b clear tht these guys r pros nd they r well aware of the process frustration hence if they deem appropriate they do respond back accordingly. But ofcourse we need to b patiend nd avoid unnecessary enquiries

Patience is a virtue, no doubt. However, I think there is a time to wait and a time to act. I applied under FSW1, and my application has been in process since Sept.28, 2009. It has been more than 4 months, but I have not received any verification, enquiry or even request for additional documents so far from ND CHC. Should I wait some more or send an email enquiry? Please advise.

ND is quite fast compared to other chc's. Hwever i would reccomend to giv them another month or so before writing to them. Sometimes they dnt send aor or any other comm but medics ppr directly. Goodluck

What disturbs me is the lack of communication and the silly mistakes by local CHC office which pushes the time line further. I will be more than happy to accept the fact if someone from CHC informs me that you will not get Visa until a specified date. However, at the same time this rule should apply to all those who have applied after me.

I am happy for applicants who are getting Visas from other parts of the world but at the same time feels the agony of those who are waiting and waiting without having a clue about the progress of their applications. Lately, there are cases where applicants got Visas 2-3 months before the expiry of their medicals which puts them in an awkward position to pack-up and land before the expiry of medicals.

Let me sumup with

Its really helpful for all the people. During my initial stages i never even bothered to check my e-case status. But before I got my medicals only I started looking. I have done my Medicals on December 22, 2009, and the report has reached CHC, ND on December 24, 2009. For 1 month I did not look my e-case again, but now am frequently checking. Its still showing "IN PROCESS" and ppl really get frustrated but really I never intend to write to CHC coz u cant tell how the ppl behave. Some might take it casually, but some will really hate. So patience is the only choice, but you know anxiety kills. Well am going through that phase now. As of today, its been 53 days since I completed my medicals. Could you suggest as to when probably can I expect "Decision Made" and my Visa stamped. Everybody's opinions will really be useful to me. Thanks.

I see what you mean. That happened with me too. At the time I was waiting for FINAL DECISION, the officer sent asking me to submit another document (after almost three months of medical), that was supposed to happen before the medical . Also, the officer asked me to submit a proof of salary and employment though I told him I am a student. Is't that waste of time?! Waiting sure is hard, especially when the officer tells you ( we can not provide you with a date when your application will be complete). The new rules apply to some visa offices , but not all and I wish I could understand why. Eventually, we can do nothing.

Hi Guys,

Sorry for my late reply. I just made the initial landing at Toronto yesterday. Thanks for your inputs :).

The waiting time is really irritating. I can very well understand that. I went through it myself and each day seems like a year. You anxiously come online every weekday and hate weekends, because there is nothing happening to e-cas on weekends. One doubt that I still have is that the CHC websites says they update the e-cas on Tuesday. I have seen E-cas being updated on other days too.

It is true that CHC makes some mistakes but then it is something that we cannot do something about at all. All we can do is to make sure that we send our documents with precision. Whenever you send your documents to CHC local office, always think yourself as a CHC officer and ask if those documents clears all my concerns or not. Be strict and harsh to yourself, and judge your documents. You will surprised to see how it will make a difference.

Thanks Blueboy for your sharing and advise. I recon its been quite right in the light of your experience. The problem is now a days some case having similar NOC, nearly similar bacgrnd and profiles gets stamped in less than 5-6 months while others have to wait more than 10-12 months in the same CHC.... Going through the forum all appears black and white so thats usually brings some impatience sometimes as waiting really makes us slow and a bit inactive too and everybody like to get rid of it!! But probably its no harm making a query after 45-60 days if someone hanged in one stage of application progress specially after "In process".. But unnecessary or repeated query should not make sensibly....
Pl wish me luck as I got stuck "In process" nearly 55 days and hopefully didn't loose my patience.... your word of encouragements doing a bit more to me.... thanks... wish you happy stay in Canada... keep posting ur settlement exp

Hi blue boy,

I need some clarification. Ur initial posting says you send the DD to CHC. Do we need to make any payment to CHC with the full docs.

In my VISA Office doc too, I found something similar. But we've already done the payments to CIO. pls clarify.

thanks
