Hi Guys,
I have been on this forum for quite a long time, now more than a year. Recently, I have seen people getting really anxious and impatient about the Visa. So, I thought of sharing few thoughts of mine and invite fellow experienced members to put in their view to help out the people who are waiting to hear from their local CHC regarding anything.
First of all I would like to mention that you should search around for time lines for people who have received the visas. You will have a fair idea about how the CHC communicates, when it communicates, how much time it takes for every step and so on. A lot of people seem to be wanting to email to the local CHC asking about their application status.
Now, first of all I think that the CHC is functioning really well since the NOC List came out in late 2008. The new processing time lines are small but still CHC takes their time to work things out. Secondly, don't ever think that CHC is sleeping on your case except for some cases on which the CHC is really sleeping (like for rockyrocky27). As I mentioned before you need to do a quite good amount of research to get an idea of the CHC time lines from the people who have already got the Visa.
There has been a surge in the posts where people have shown their desire to email CHC to know the status of their application. I would strongly suggest NOT TO EMAIL CHC so casually. It's Canadian Immigration Department and not a customer care of a mobile company. They might be answering you back but those are just pre formatted answers. The more you disturb them with your emails, the more disturbed they will get. Now, I am not claiming this but when you email CHC it shows that you are getting impatient and indirectly questioning the working of CHC.
I will say "Have Patience". Patience is they key to your visa. I will talk about my time line. I submitted full docs to CHC New Delhi on 21st May 2009. On June 13th I got the RPRF DD back saying that they could not encash it. I went and got the DD made from another bank and sent it on 14th June. I then received the DD back on 27th June telling me that they cannot encash it since there is no issuing bank name on it. Now, I am not sure why they said so because the DD clearly mentioned HDFC Bank. So, I went and got the DD made again with HDFC Stamp on it and sent it. Thanks to God, this time the DD was accepted. In late July I received a letter asking for clarification over my master's degree. I sent the clarification on August 17th. After that it was a long long wait. But, I never gave up. I never let my patience run out. Whenever I thought I was going to lose it, I just prayed to god and controlled myself. I didn't emailed CHC asking what they are doing. I knew sending an email will bother them unnecessarily. I used to check my E-cas and all that I saw every day was "In Process - Application Received". It is frustrating, you know that. But, don't give up. I waited and waited and waited. I believed in CHC's working and finally in mid November one day my E-cas changed to "Interview scheduled on 3rd December". I just jumped with joy on seeing that change in the E-cas. I gave my interview. I then received the medical request late December. In that they mentioned that they have already asked for my passport but haven't got it. So, I need to send it. Somehow I didn't get their letter asking for passport earlier. But, that's ok. I sent it and then waited for some news. On 26th Jan, my E-cas said "Decision Made" and in the evening I got my Visa.
Now, the time lines depend on lots of things - your NOC, educational records, employment history and lots of other considerations. Every case is different. Every case has its' unique time line. Your case is unique too. No one can tell you how much time it will take. Your case creates its own unique time line. Don't give up. Don't lose your patience. CHC IS WORKING. Just have faith in God and believe that things will happen the right way. Trust me, the more you believe and pray, the sooner things will happen.
Thanks.
