Does My Spousal Visa Application Scenario Sound Like it Should Suceed?

Im a 41 year old male, physician working in Montreal who met a 27 year old employed filipino woman with a finance degree online and proceeded to visit her in the Philippines. Our plan would be to get married in the Spring/Summer of 2013 in my 4th visit to the Philippines which would make our relationship just over a year long (perhaps as much as 14 months) at the time of marriage. Weare very much in love, Skype everyday and ofcourse have the records from all of our trips together, skyping and meetings with her family. Should I expect problems from CIC when I apply for a spousal VISA with this history?

The records for your trip are fine but try to collect more evidence As long as you have enough and strong proof for your ongoing relationship then this will not be problematic
Try to collect western union receipts, post cards. love letters, phone bills, skype history, gifts send to her address or sent to yours.
wedding photos, boarding passes, airline tickets, entry and exit stamps on your passport to Philippine, gift receipts, declaration letters from both sides of the family, honeymoon trip tickets, hotel reservations, more photos showing both of you toghether at different location, time and outfit.

I see no reason why you would have any problems. The main thing working in your favour will be the fact that you got married after some time, as opposed to getting married two weeks after you met.

Keep copies of everything pertaining to your relationship, and you should be fine.

With your wife being Pinay and a 13 year age difference, it will go under more scrutiny than others. However, she has a degree (which means she could apply to immigrate as a FSW when the program restarts by herself) and your courtship was average.

Any relationship under two years is looked at more.

A well documented relationship and good application will go a long ways.

Thank you for your response, one and all. Amikety, what type of problems do you think I should expect because of the less than 2 year relationship period and the age difference between us? I really appreciate the time you are taking to help me with this :)

No specific problem, just they will look at it a little harder. I think with a 13 year age difference and your wife's home country, you should definitely prepare for an interview mentally. Doesn't mean you'll have one. Better safe than sorry :)

I'll let you know how OUR (ahem) similar file goes. We're expecting PPR any day/week now. By no means did we submit anything like the "13 lb boxed" application packages that some others' might have constructed here. Ours fit into an "envelope", albeit a large one. The bulk of our evidence is/was the 60 pics or so we chose to submit, out of several 100's possible.

Looks like everything is going to be just fine Xavier, our PPR letter (received Dec 5th) states they are ready to issue visa, just waiting on 'original passport' and a new 'Appendix B' with photo's.
