Document update final date is 25-Jul and ILets Result date will be 23-July, help

Dear All ;

Here I have a problem now, my final date of documentation updation to CIC-Londin office is 25/07/2009 where as I will be able to get my Ilets Result on 23/07/2009. Actually this is second time I will appear for Ilets because in my first test taken on 09/05/2009, I could not be able to get required score of atleast 14 to enable me to get minimum required score of 67. Now the question is that I will be sending my documents for updation on 23/07/09 to CIC London office if i will get 14 score in Ilets or I will send request on the same date taking back my application and asking for refund. Now in this situation, the time involved is only 2 days, please give your opinion about risks.

As per my calculation of my score as of now situtation are as follows;

Education = 22
Language = 12 (this is where in need to imrpove and get 14 score atleast)
Experience = 21
Age = 10

In current situtaion I can get only 65 score and likly rejection.

In my previous Ilets test, I got score as follows;

Listening = 6
Speaking = 7
Writing = 6.5
Reading = 5

Can anybody advise how to improve reading score?

by the way, i don't read every single messages in the forum, so if you write a note to me in a topic, its a good chance i will miss it.

The risk is that it will arrive after the deadline. I don't know if they consider the deadline the day they receive it or the day of the postmark on the envelope. Unfortunately, i think its the former. If you can get it on the 23rd, then best to hand deliver it. Do you know if it is possible to hand deliver the documents to the visa office. you should find out about that? Do you live near London?

As for improving your reading score, i have no idea. I have not taken the IELTS yet.
There is an IELTS section on this forum. You should check what advice people give there. maybe you could post your question about improving the reading section on that and hopefully someone will give you some pointers.

I have a solution to You, because I had the same situation of yours and I am also London applicant.

1. Try to contact the examination centre and tell them that you will go to collect it by yourself so that will save one to two days post.

2. send the full package at the same date of the IELTS result.

3. Use Special delivery next day but add insurance on it up to £3000 so that they will be very worried about delivering it by the next time and also you can track the status of your parcel online.

4. Finally do not worry, my deadline was 14th of May and I sent my document on the 11th of May and they received it on the 12th of May. So do not be panic but do your best to collect the result before they send it by post.

you are at risk. i gave IELTS twice but could not increase reading marks.

if possible claim adaptability points (spouse education)

According to me, claim adaptability points by doing marriage of some person with 16 year of full education. and in covering letter mention that during response period i got married.

I am continueosly checking from british counsel and they said if any of candidate register fro 27/06, if will canclled or postponed, then they will give me chance for the same, otherwise I have to appear on 11/07

Here are few things I can suggest:

1.) Keep the document package ready. Only the IELTS result shud remain pending. Rest all of the documents shud be ready.
2.) Prepare for IELTS (details below)
3.) Get the result. If you have scored the desirable points then go to step 4. Else I am not sure what you can do since you individually need 67 points to clear.
4.) If you can get a printout from a site then put get it and put it with the documents and send. I am not sure if you can do that. I am from India and I had the results on the British Council India website. If u can do same thing then do it. In a later stage the CHC will ask for the IELTS result card which you can send later. Atleast this way you can tell CHC that you have cleared IELTS and send ur application on time.

To score bettter in IELTS:
How did you prepare for IELTS? Make sure you go through enormous numbers of mock tests available around on the net. Reading is probably one of the simplest sections. Just read the paragraphs nicely and get an overall image and meaning of that para. When you answer the questions you will know what para to refer to.
