HI EVERY BODY.I AM APPLYING FOR CANADIAN IMMIGRATION BY THE END OF THIS MONTH.I AM A DOCTOR AND CONFUSED WHETHER TO APPLY UNDER CATAGORY 3112(GEN PRACTITIONAR ,FAMILY PHYSICIAN) OR 3111(SPECIALIST PHYSICIAN).
MY QUALIFICATION IS
..MBBS
..ONE YEAR HOUSE JOB
..TWO YEARS POSTGRADUTE FCPS TRAINEE IN GENERAL MEDICINE
..20 MONTHS POSTGRADUATE FCPS TRAINEE IN CARDIOLOGY
ALL DONE IN TEACHING HOSPITAL.MEAN I AM A RESIDENT IN CARDIOLOGY NOT YET COMPLETED MY SPECIALIZATION
UNDER WHICH CATAGORY SHOULD I APPLY.PLEASE HELP

Dear Doctors,

I am writing this question on behalf of my wife, she is a MBBS from pak with 1+2 years of experience. currently in UAE. I needed to know whether credentials like these would help her get qualified for a resident program (PG in any speciality; may be derma) in any of canadian universities?

what is required for a Paki MBBS to be able to practive in canada. is it a long process?
Is it advisable to come to canada as an immigrant with these credentials? or just go for higher studies?

your thoughts and advice is much appreciated

Well Pakmate, I didn't think I had to supply it since the college I graduated from is the most common & the oldest college in Egypt. If they needed to check they could easily get it..
Still, if you would like to supply this info I believe it would be in your favour..

Also according to my knowledge, they do not verify each & every paper. As long as it looks right (from their experience) they will probably accept it. Otherwise, they make random selections for further checking. This information was always mentioned on this site though I am not sure it's 100 percent true, it looks so.

Btw going trough Toronto notes which is good for MCCEE and more importantly MCCQE1. Very informative and actually not too difficult to read. Preventive Health by Shah is also good to get an idea about medicine in Canada which also pays to know when sitting for the MCC exams. Best of luck to all preparing for MCCEE or other MCC exams.

Dear Paro, you'll find detailed answers to all questions regarding the MCCEE exam in previous posts in this lead.

In short:
1. You have to contact & register with PCRC inorder to be able to register in the MCCEE exam

2. After you make all the steps, you register for the MCCEE exam

Inorder to study for the exam, there are many resources to study from. The best but largest resource is Toronto Notes which is app. 1500 pages.
Some use smaller sources as First aid USMLE step 2 & add just a few chapters from Toronto Notes..
There are many others options as well..
