Do you want US Visa Appointment ‘earliest’ date?

Hi everyone,

I submitted my application for a B1/B2 visa in January 2024 and booked an appointment for July 2025. Today (July 30, 2024), I received an email stating that I can reschedule my appointment to an earlier date. However, when I log in, no appointments are available. Two questions:
1-Will new slots open for me? If so, what should I do to avoid the "system is busy. please try again later" error?
2-If I don't reschedule to an earlier time and wait for two months (as I need to renew my passport), will I lose this rescheduling opportunity? Is this option available for only a limited time?

What province was this? I booked November 2023 and the earliest date I got was December 2025

I applied in july 2023 from toronto, got an appointment date for july 2025. in june 2024 I got an email saying I was eligible for an earlier appointment, the only one available was in vancouver for july 30 2024. I just got back from Vancouver and my visa as approved on the spot with no interview, no supporting documents.

They only asked for my PR card, RTD and photo, how long I would stay in the US and took my fingerprints. I should receive it in the mail next week, not sure how long for. My RTD expires September 2024. Will update here when I receive it.

I heard they no longer release earlier slots so perhaps just wait for email. It's a rumour though but over the past several months with intense checking I have not seen early slots at all so that may be right. Fingers crossed they can expedite the rescheduling.

When I checked recently, the website says SYSTEM IS BUSY. PLEASE TRY LATER.
I guess no choice but to wait for the golden email.

I was able to reschedule it to Jan 2026 few days back and today to September 2025.
For the fb group, no I am not aware of it. Wish we could get it for 2024 too. Its such a long wait

They open the slots from 4 PM-2 AM pacific time.

congrats on moving to to Sep 2025. How often did you have to check the website to find the random slots release?

I applied Jan 2024, still confirmed for Jan 2026 and never saw any released slots in my account. And no reschedule email yet.
