Interesting. Most of the people don't a job straight after graduating, especially in the current scenario. It's not an excuse and I'm not going to use it as one either.

So as my sample size is low, i won't comment on the accuracy. However, the factors which i have found out are 1) Your Target College/UNiversity. 2) Your GPA (shouldn't be too low) 3) Your Program 4) EMployment back home . Family ties in Canada do not matter much though. Education GAP is not given much importance as well.
I can attest to this somewhat. I had recently applied for Student visa , firstly in Jan 2021 then May and both were refused. I had a CGPA of 2.65. Cambrian College Business Analytics Program then switched to Project Management as they were not fond of the first one. Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering

A lot of people have been talking about the use of some AI software or whatever to hand out visas for Canada and I was wondering if it's actually the case or not because most of the applicants have some sort of weakness in their profile and they usually address these weaknesses with the help of the SOP. What even is the point of this SOP if the VO isn't even going to read it?
I can tell you with confidence that most likely they don't. I have had 2 past rejections and in the GCMS notes they made incorrect remarks about how my chosen course is not linked with my experience and past education where it was a no brainer that it was 100% aligned with what I was doing. In both cases decision was taken in under 2-3 days of application as I saw the decision date on GCMS notes (most likely by AI) but results were sent out after 3-4 months so applicants don't go back & immediately apply. Also GCMS notes are being sent after 90 days which makes me think that they actually look at your profile once you ask for it and notes are being prepared then.
