A lot of people have been talking about the use of some AI software or whatever to hand out visas for Canada and I was wondering if it's actually the case or not because most of the applicants have some sort of weakness in their profile and they usually address these weaknesses with the help of the SOP. What even is the point of this SOP if the VO isn't even going to read it?

So we can use AI to create a summary of SOP, they may read that. Your profile is given weightage , it is like a neural network they use to give a final output

How are you so sure about it?
I am almost 100% sure because I have written and sent 10 Sops of my friends. And i always almost could predict which one will be rejected, no matter what i wrote in the SOP.

I see. Have your predictions always been on point? What are the common indicators that you think affects the profile the most? regardless of the SOP.

So as my sample size is low, i won't comment on the accuracy. However, the factors which i have found out are 1) Your Target College/UNiversity. 2) Your GPA (shouldn't be too low) 3) Your Program 4) EMployment back home . Family ties in Canada do not matter much though. Education GAP is not given much importance as well.

Interesting. I don't even know what to say because it seems totally random these days. I've seen a lot of my friends and acquaintances getting their visa application refused even though their grades were good and the program of study was relevant. On the other hand, I've also seen people with low academics getting their visa approved. I guess we can't be sure of anything these days. All we can do is just hope for the best. Nonetheless, thank you for your input.

Then those are really doing a poor job in the SOP. Remember they will not read your whole SOP, but they will create a summary of SOP and just read that. Lot of guys i have seen have no clear reason why they are pursuing a particular course. For ex, someone in tech is opting for an MBA. Or some going to some shitty colleges.

Are you waiting for your permit to be approved? care to tell me which college and course?

Excuse me for the misunderstanding but when I said I didn't apply, I meant to say I haven't applied for any college yet, mostly because none of them have opened up for September 2022 intake. As for the profile, it's pretty weak actually. I've got an arts background as I have interest in drawing and stuff and my dad is also an arts teacher. I got 64 percent in my 10th grade from ICSE board, 75 in my 12th and 50 in my BA from DU. I have good grades in my final year of college but not in the freshman and sophomore years as I wasn't able to attend the classes in those years due to health issues in family. I am planning to apply in Cambrian and Conestoga for their Game - Design program. I know how to use most of the softwares as I taught myself how to do 3D modeling and stuff and I also have some relevant certifications and a pretty decent (imo) portfolio as well. At this point, I know I'm overthinking considering I haven't even applied for any college but I'm sure you'll understand the concern. Here's the link to my portfolio if you're interested. Also, my band score is not great either, it's 7.5 overall with 8.5 in listening, 7.5 in reading, 6.5 in both writing and speaking respectively.
