hi boyee,
i'm not sure this is what you want to hear, but my husbands medical expired on july 13... his interview was july 27, and at the interview the IO told him he was approved but would need to re-do the exams. i was crushed when i heard this was the case. had been hoping they would extend. it had only been expired for 2 weeks, and they couldn't make an exception! it seems they aren't very interested in bringing people together as quickly as possible. the only silver lining is that they had my husband leave his passport at the office, so we wont have to wait the extra time for mailing it there... (saving us what... 5 days maybe??)
we have been working with an immigration consultant who has been helping us through this process, and they sent a letter to our IO shortly after the interview requesting them to reconsider the need for a medical, however she said the chances of that happening are slim, and not to wait for a response. so we have gone ahead with starting the re-do of the exams.
im also curious to know what the time-line is for the exam paperwork, so anyone with past experience, please share!
good luck boyee - it sounds like you and your partner have been through a lot! stay strong.
