These are the steps

1.Paper decision/ making sure all information is there / Send AOR what not!!

2.Selection/ determining is relationship is bonified/ either request interview/ or original documents and more supporting documents

3. Background/and security decision ( this process can takes months)

4.Medical review/ and if at this point if meds are expired request medical redos.

5.Final decision / either request PP/ or deny the applicant ..

Hope that gives some clearity about the process...Every visa office processes different But with my visa office this is indeed how it went ...

thank you! that helps...what is AOR though?

Our case was an appealed case that we won back in March of this year. I was just wondering at what point in appealed cases they do the security check since things are kind of different when you have to go this route.

we got letter for PCC redo and updated forms and they received acknowledged getting them on Aug 10th. We got the medical redo letter on Saturday Aug 21 and the medical is now done and they will receive it next week.

im glad u won your case! did u need an interview?

they didnt believe our relationship was genuine. We won by ADR. I have been trying to find out what the process is like for appeals and when security checks are done just so I can have a round about idea of when we can start thinking of him coming.

Aor ...It is where they say they have your file and assign a B file number for the Pr applicant/ or in some peoples cases depnding on visa office UPDATE ecas (some dont get AOR) ..It generally gives generic information about the process and how long it will take ...

I was looking at your information ...It will roll along just like normal ...I am sure ...you have been asked to redo meds and give additonal docs ...So either they have started security or will very shortly...

when we did our application back in 2009 my husband was called for an interview. He got one really nasty VO. Things didnt go well and to make a very sad story short we got rejected. We had all kinds of proof for 7 years but as soon as she came in the room she told my husband she didnt believe we were in a genuine relationship. It was horrible

all of those redos have been done now. Medical completed today and they will have it next week. So just trying to figure our when we can expect to see each other. Never been outside India
They havent asked for his passport yet either

That is very sad boyee...Well you won ADR and now the only concern is security clearances really because you are exempt medically( but not exempt for public safety ) so if that medical is satisfactory ...it should goes fast ...I wish you all the luck in the world...More than likey it wont be long ...You will be sharing your good news with eveyone real soon ..

thank you! i am 99% sure he wil be accepted, i'd be shocked if he wasnt. it just takes so long and im getting anxious thats all.

thanks so much. I appreciate your kind words. Do you think they would have started the security checks when they got the Pcc redo and other updated docs?

also what does ADR stand for? sorry i dont know all the terms :(

it means Alternative Dispute Resolution. Its like mediation and its for cases that are pretty simple. The more complex cases go to full hearing. ADR is very informal and ours was done through video conference, only lasted 40 minutes and they gave me a decision at the metting.

really? wow interesting. I'm happy u won!
