If Canada has worked well for you, good for you! At the same time we need to accept that Canada might not be a fit for everybody due to numerous reasons (working background, culture, expectations, etc.) or they hadn't had a good start as yours.

Everyone has the right to post his/her own opinion and experience whether it's positive or negative. And believe it or not: negative comments and experiences sometimes are more helpful than glorification of Canada. So please do us all a favour and stop posting abusive and offensive comments like those above.

Absolutely spot on Qorax. How many times have we seen in this forum. People asking for "Which is the best place for Indians/Pakistanis?" "Which Places has many muslims/ Hindus/ Sikhs?". Why? If you wanna be surrounded by a particular race or religion then why come to Canada in the first place. They Might well us stay in the Home Town or in the comfort Zone. Why don't they start looking for a place which is good for their profession ?

Integrating into the society is the key for any successful immigration story and thats what I think people are missing.

In that case, very poor planning from the government. Immigration should be more on the job market and on the very high demand and in the same time we should find solutions. We can not be accepting doctors while they can not get hired!
The examples are too many...

I agree i have many Friends who are Dr and have been doung the tests to get a chance in and its almost impossible to get in and cic is still accepting more

True that...I have seen them studying, passing all the tests, re-entering and cannot get hired...The government is not doing its job at all...
Have we seen the impact of having a good economy on our life as Canadians? Instead we buy American fighters while we shut down very successful R&D and aerospace programs (like the arrow/avro...)...why can not we be better than the US?
Have we any change during elections? But we can feel changes when US election are on?

1) Majority of the people come to Canada becasue of Economic Reasons!
2) So When they land in Canada they are in rush to make money. But they do not reaize that they are in new country with new system, new culture and this not so easy to make money quickly.

So how to make money? To make money I think it is very imporant you make solid plan. First thing which everybody knows Canadian Employers do not recognize your degrees, Expereince. THEN WHAT TO DO?

I am living in this country for almost 10 years. There are 2 kind of people making monyey.
1st the people who are doing their own business especially in service industry AND
2nd People WHO DO NOT RUN after $$$$ as they land in Canada, they immediately get Canadian Education (they get education in right program after doing proper research).

What I know is that people that are not the best in their country and want to find a good job right away in another country, are just daydreaming. No country owes you anything. If you are/were good enough you will/would find a job that suits you

buck up buttercup! Life is not going to hand you roses and moonlight. You need to secure your own future and sitting in the corner and crying about the bullies out there is not going to do you any good. Life is tough, deal with it. The job market in North America is probably the toughest in the world. It's a dog eat dog world out there and you need to get up and face the competitive edge. Do whatever it takes to succeed, maybe you need to adjust the format of your resume, cover letter or even improve your english capabilities.

Stop wining and being dramatic, Canada (or the world for that matter) doesn't owe you anything, you are here to offer the economy your services. Please stop complaining about your decisions, I waited over 4 years for my PR to get approved and I am grateful today to be here, It is people like you who back up the immigration system and then do not use the opportunity that has been given to them.

My 2 cents.

u have been in Canada for 3 months only! we all were prepared that we would not get a job for at least the first year. you should have prepared urself financially before taking the descion of quitting ur job and move to Canada. best of luck finding a good job.

Let us be fair before we judge others. Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in his shoes.
Let us just think and face facts instead of jumping and criticizing. What is in it for Canada if you really love this country?
Fact 1: This is a skilled worker cat. It is the country's economic demand
Fact 2: If our job market demand those skilled workers we (specifically the government) have to fill the gab
Fact 3: Are the existing program effective? Who is to access them? The government should do that
Fact 4: If the whole government is made up of ineffective and inefficient people. Look at one department CIC

I am not saying that because I am opposing the current government policies and performance

But the government did not play its role before sending for immigrants to come

On the other hand did the immigrant do their part
Fact 1: Most of them try very very hard...most of them struggle
....


Third party which is us the community
fact 1: some of us understand others fight and can not accept criticism
fact 2: what about employers? In this country they donot really help and prefer to hire someone who is not efficient and ineffective because we just know them...like what we did when we hired the government...

The final outcome is a total decline in Canada's future whether economic, work, ...etc

The suggested solution:

- A government that really works for its people.
- A society that fights favortism,
For CIC as part of Canada
-Choose immigrants who can adapt and create effective programs and more federal programs like hire immigrant to work for 1 transitional year to gain both experience and adapt

-Can u get the Nationality of that country, if u r an Expatriate?
-Can u stay/reside till "eternity" in that country?
-Can u do whatever u want there, even if it's not illegal?
-Can u buy a house "in a year" in that country?
-Even if u r less qualified or underemployed, can u think of buying a house / getting a mortgage?
-Will u get pension after your haytime is past in your current country?
-R u entitled to "unemployment insurance" there?
-Can your children be called First Country Citizens there?
-Can u vote & get to elect your representative at the senate (in 4 yrs.)?
-Would u get to meet your MP - for personal matters?
-Does your child receive Free Education now (& a good one at that)?
-Do u all receive Free Healthcare in that nation (& the best too)?
-Do u like to reside in Asia rather than North Americas?
-Do u believe in equality of man & get it there?
-R u treated at par there alongwith the nationals?
-Can u still hold your head high under dire straits?
-Does the Cop call u "Sir" even while u r being ticketed?
-Can u purchase 50% of your goods there at cheaper rates than here?
-Could u buy a good used Merc in about $12000? And a fairly new one in about $22K?
-Do u get your merchandize locally made or from EU/US, rather than China?
-Can u get homegrown foodstuff (& organic too), not imported?
-Can u be least bothered about landlords increasing your rents?
-Can u be assured about Minimum Wages there?
-Can u go into Collective Bargaining with your employer?
-How about being self-employed, w/out the hassle of owenership/sponsorship?
-Do u receive about $300-500/child as Free Allowance every month?
-If u get disabled (God Forbid), can u call the Public Bus to your home doorstep?
-Can u daily bike to "whispering meadows" & live healthier?
-Does your patio open to natural greenery, all around?
-Can u come to your home basement & catch the Subway, w/out leaving the bldg?
-Can u call the world over in $30/month, unlimited?
-If u r a single lady, will u be assured of safety & opportunities by your Govt?
-Can your wife be assured of Govtl. Support if u pass away (God Forbid) uninsured?

Uhh... I could go on, but u'd be bored & awed further...

If most answers to the above is "Yes"... Then [size=13pt]stay on in Dubai.
If 50% of them is "No"... Then Welcome to Canada!
