see thats the one good thing about Manila is that my wife doesn't need to make appointments for her medical because you didn't need one it was first come, first serve, so if you went early in morning u had no problem of seeing the doctor that very same morning

Actually that's how it was for me as well in Montreal, but if he's seeing a doctor in the U.S. he'll probably need an appointment. If they call and schedule one now then they can have the piece of mind knowing that it's on the calendar. Otherwise if it's a walk-in then I'd still recommend waiting to have it done. I didn't realize how long the FBI check would take, so I had my medical done the same week as my fingerprints, then sat around getting antsy while I waited for my FBI check to come back.

Police cert must not be more than 3 months old when u submit
That's my understanding as well -- 3 months.

Mine was about 2 days over 3 months when I actually mailed by application, so it was techncially expired. I called the in-Canada 800# and asked about this. The officer said that its up to the agent processing. That they can accept expired info based on their judgement. I got another copy from the FBI (US) just in case -- since it takes several weeks -- and faxed a copy to Buffalo w/ note saying I'd send the original, magic paper form from the FBI. CIC never replied. Got PPR today, so it appears that was good enough, or didnt' matter.

I would not send in a certificate unless it was requested. But have it ready if that's easy just in case.

You absolutely MUST submit an FBI certificate as a US citizen or someone who has been resident there for more than 6 months. It is NOT a case of "send it in if it's requested". Police certificates and medical exams are mandatory. In case you didn't read the manual, they are among the few documents which must be originals to be acceptable.

Btw, I only point this out because of how your question is worded, you do mean that when your husband (the applicant) does his medical exam and gets his FBI background check, right? As a sponsor you don't have to do either of those. You probably already know that, but your question is worded like you are the one who is getting the medical exam and background check done, and I just wanted to clarify.

Also, he should go ahead and call to set up and appointment for his medical exam with a doctor from the approvide provider list, but set the appointment for a couple of months in the future (say end of January, beginning of February). He should get his fingerprints and request his FBI background check asap. I requested mine in the beginning of November 2010, and I didn't get it until the end of January/beginning of February 2011.

Good idea! Yah, I will call the medical to set up an app't for him tomorrow. I also do know that it's not me the sponsor getting the criminal and med. check but thanks for double checking with me to make sure I know.

All of my partner's photos were the same. The DMP said it didn't matter, but I would call the DMP your using to make saure.

Just wanted to get the input from you guys.

Were your 4x medical photos the same as the 4x application photos?
Mine weren't. I wasn't thinking straight and didn't bring photos with me. Thank god the DMP I saw had the equipment to do the photos right there. I sincerely doubt they were the proper dimensions either (as in I think they were passport sized and not the size normally specified by CIC), but I didn't encounter any problems because of it.
