It asks for us to send in a divorce court order issued by a family judge.

My SO is divorced now but we only have the "Acta de Divorcio" - we live in Mexico.

Does anyone know what the paper is called that we need and how to obtain it? We spoke with our lawyer and he seems to have no idea about much of anything.

Is it called "Sentencia Definitiva de Divorcio expedida por un Juez de lo Familiar"

Thanks so much,

What lawer it's your lawyer who dosen't know about you are talking about??!!!

Sorry but sometimes I am quite impressed of such a behavoir from some one who did so many years of law school.... :o.

A divorce paper it's the final decision what was taken into a court of law.

The court of law, will send you at home this final decision, usually after your divorce it's over.

If the paper you have it's not the right one then you can get a copie I think, at your husbund&boyfriend's court of law where the divorce took place; the answer is there, where actully the divorce took place.

Best of luck!!

I think what they want to read somewhere in your Acta de Divorcio is that the "marriage has been dissolved".
