The BOA letter doesn't have any contact info (address, phone number or email) to verify the information. It is not an a letterhead paper (printed in B/W on white paper). It's not signed or stamped (as BOA refused due to liability).

I figured out you can get the exact same letter on BOA online banking website and print it yourself!

I searched the entire forum and couldn't see a single case someone used a POF from BOA so I didn't try to take a risk.
I decided to transfer all my funds to HSBC and they wrote me that damn letter the way CIC wanted!!

Thanks for updating your experience.

It sounds like good idea, but wouldn't you have to reason the funds availability in short time in a new bank account? The activity description says very little I guess. I understand it can be explained in loe, but I'm not sure how the claim of transferring from our own account could be proved! If you'll have to show the amount debited from boa account, you again put yourself in a position of showing boa account details.

I faced this same issue. I addressed it in a LoE, provided the bank statement from the new bank, and provided the paperwork from the last financial institution to prove the money was mine to begin with.

I talked to BOA people! Visited 4 branches and then did the process at Washington DC branch where they were confident that this will be accepted by CIC and they have issued several certificates like that...

Besides, no, u cannot print it urself. It has to be prepared by the head office or something like that... Bank manager called and got it emailed to her right in front of me. So if a bank manager cannot print it - it is not available online for anyone to print.

Yes, it looks stupid unprofessional online printed webpage, agreed - but it will be accepted.

Since most of us have backed it with the statements, u should do the same...

Changing banks etc will actually be more work for u as well as for visa officer!

This is my personal belief...

I agree. Transferring to another bank still leaves us with the burden of proving that BOA account is legitimate as it is a source of fund for the new account. I feel carries same risk (if any) as submitting the BOA bank account directly for proof of funds.

One related question.. I have added my accompanying spouse last month as my nominee to my account. Her name is appearing as POD in the statement. POD means Payable On Death. As per BOA definition, I still have 100% authority over the account, and the funds will be given the nominee only in case of my death. Would this be sufficient if I add this LOE or anything else would be needed?

Whether u r the PA or she - it doesnt matter!

The account should be in ur name or spouse name...

And yes, it should have money...

Do we have any data on how much time it takes for an applicant from USA to get PPR.

Also is there any number to call cic from USA.

Nope... Get each and every page notarized. Meaning sign each and every page in front of the bank manager and get them ot stamp and sign that page as well...

No clue, i called CIC last week, the guy told me sit tight and wait, there is no strong pattern on timeline, some of us just more lucky. I think once the medicals PASS then it's not that long, but for some reason it takes 2 month just to clear medicals as per current trend.

Thanks! I will upload the pdf file for 6 months. In the previous post, did you mean notarizing the average balance sheet from the bank? Is it okay to notarize the consolidated balance statement?

Please call 1-613-944-4000 from the US

NO VOIP Just Skype, sometimes the call center is overloaded, but once you get thru usually it's 15-20 minutes and you will speak with an agent.
