He has written a LOE but still got rejection. Not sure why OINP is so particular about passport validity with at least 2 years.

I'm in a similar situation. My passport is valid for more than 4 years, but two of my dependents (daughters) have passport validity of less than two years but more than 1.5 years. Their passport is valid till November 2017. Will that be an issue?

Please advice what can I do in this situation.

I've been a silent member of this forum. My application has reached OINP on January 26, 2016 and currently waiting for an AOR. There were a quite a few rejections lately for incomplete applications. One of my acquaintance has recently got a rejection for having an indian passport with validity under 2 years. As part of his application process he has written a letter stating that Indian passports are only re-issued/renewed only when the validity of the current passport is under 1 year. But they still rejected his application.

I'm under a similar condition. However, I've written a email to OINP explaining this prior to my application process. This is what I've received from them:"You may submit your current passport and provide an explanation that you will be applying for a new passport when eligible to do so and will submit a copy of it upon receipt. Once you received your new passport please ensure every page is copied and submit to OINP".

I've written a letter explaining the above as part of my application process. Could you advise if it's ok to remind OINP of this or sit quiet? What are your thoughts on sending an email to be on safe side? I don't want any surprises from them..:-(

Please advise as I'm really nervous.

Then this can be legally contested. They stand totally wrong in this case.

Guys my file number is not even close to the recent AOR file numbers ....

I wonder where am falling in to, can anybody share some knowledge

Case number : XHEC -16-11021XXX
File number : XHEC - 16028XX

As per @skvach who tracks file number : -

- The file number in sent the PDF enclosed to your AOR. It looks like XHSW-160XXYY.
The XX position, enlighten us about the remaining quota for 2016.

- Actually, 160 means 2016 quota that started in Nov 2015, so all applications since then were given 160XXYY file numbers.

- The quota for 2016 was announced last November = 5500 for ALL streams. Out of this the EE quota for 2016 is around 2700.

- according to file numbers they received around 1400 complete applications in November as a part of 2016 quota and between June and November 2015 around 3000 AORs were issued. (2015 quota)

Other Observations :-

- File Number is generated when ONIP encash your draft or work on your file and not when they actually send out your AOR.
Usually OINP works sequentially but in few cases some applications get picked out-of-turn also.

- Actually the quota for 2016 is 5400 so file numbers will be from 0-5400. EE quota is just 2700 but FileNumber reflect all AORs (EE & non-EE) that OINP is sending out

- People got AOR on June 20th with file # 270X range, on 28-June the File Number was in 29XX range. So in span of 7-8 days they sent 250 AORs

Hello Everyone,
I am a January 2016, FSW OINP applicant, having submitted my application under Human Capital Priorities Stream on 7th Jan 2016. I have just read in this thread regarding the rejection of OINP applications if your passport is not valid for another 2 years. I am the principal applicant and my passport is getting expired in Nov. 2017. While submitting my application I have also enclosed the LOE as under:
Sub: Letter of Clarification for Passport Expiry
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing with reference to the reason for clarification of Passport Expiry, which shall not be valid for another two years from the date of submission of this application to the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program. I have applied for Express Entry Profile with passport details mentioned underneath:
Passport number: XXXXXXXX
Name on Passport : XXXXXX
Date of Birth : XX/XX/1983
Place of Birth : XXXXXX
Date of Expiry : XX/11/2017

Since the Indian Government allows re-issue of passport only within one year of expiry of existing passport, therefore the same cannot be renewed at the time of application. I appreciate your consideration in this matter. In case of any queries please feel free to contact the undersigned".
Since I am the principal applicant and my passport could not be renewed at the time of submission of the application, therefore I submitted this LOE. Moreover, I have written to them on 9th May 2016 regarding status of my application and yesterday I have received a PRE -AOR stating that the application is reviewed and accepted and is put in que for further processing. I do not want to get it rejected for the reason of non validity of passport, therefore seeking advice of learned friends and members as what could be done to safeguard it? Thanks in advance!!

my name was added to the list now its not in there... my application was received at OINP at decemeber 10, 2015 .... and i received my Acknowledgment letter on may 19, 2016... i applied for human capital priorities stream after a letter of interest on EE profile...! My CRS score is 447 .. !
