@rajkamalmoharam,

If I go for a movie, and the move is bad , i would get up and go. I wont see it just because I spend some money. Canada is same for me. IF I dont get what I want , I will get up and go. I must get what I want or else not everything but I have most of the things I want in India. I just want something which is not here in India and thats it.

thats me, i dont know who is what. all are different
Everybody wants something. All I am saying is if you don't get what you want immediately after you land, it doesn't hurt to do a survival job and use that money along with your savings - This will help you reduce your financial burden. That is all I am saying. Anyway, good luck!

Hi friends,

I got my AOR on 05th July and submitted new DD also but just wanted to know at what stage will I get request for ECA?

Also my spouse got a new passport but express entry does not have a column to update new passport details, have they changed their system and removed the spouse passport details column?

Appreciate your help.

Thanks
wait for them to ask you to submit ECA. it was mandatory for those who applied after 11th Jan. you can wait.

Digital/Best/Dhasha/Piyush/Raj ...All who commented.

Respect your perspectives, comments.. and the small essay from Best..He totally totally gave a different spin to OLA.Uber trigger. :'( :'(

Well, 8th Aug my DD is expiring. I got the mail reviewed and accepted. Any chance OINP will en cash on time or I will be asked to resubmit.
It was not to give a spin to the topic, but it was just to say money is not all. A well furnished house and a car is not all we want, like some of them interpret as a meaning of Dignity. Its all above that. Work satisfaction and good environment are equally important. when you have taken pains to study what you wanted With the hard earned money of your parents)why end up as a storekeeper or taxi driver for lifetime., giving an excuse I dint get a job so I do it for my survival. There is no compulsion to survive, who is forcing you to survive ( unless you have done a fraud in your country and you are wanted and cannot go back or you are an refugee). IF I have decided to give it a try to Canada, I can give another try to Singapore too or decide to come back. Life is a process until you get what you want and not accept what comes to you so easily.

OMG: Sorry, I triggered the topic of OLA/UBER..on a lighter note. Never imagined it will turn into a full debate on dignity of labor.

However, the debate is quite healthy, informative and a eye opener of many of us.

Some members shared the real life experiences, scenarios which will help us to mentally gear up to face any eventuality.

Every body's perspective is respected.

By the way, folks got up from the 3 days deep slumber; now it's hangover time for them to enjoy. Literally no AOR's/NOM's

2 days to go and comes a week end. Enjoy folks..nothing to loose, no accountability, no transparency, no responsibilities. Cheers; Keep it up.

On / Off issue a couple of isolated AOR's / NOM's without any logic, to project that the system is live, working and let the show on.

Just ensure, vague messages, work diligently for applicants to get auto replies through the system.

Enjoy 1500 X 1,00,000 = 150,000,000 (This figure may vary)

Multiply the figure by 2, 2015, 2016 and ensure another multiple for 2017. :'( :'( :'(

I do agree with Raj. The first job I had when I came to Canada in 2012 was cleaning up my neighbours' house then mowing their lawns. I then worked as a dishwasher in an Indian restaurant for 8 months, then worked in a cosmetic factory as a general labour for a year while I was in school. Once I graduated, I was lucky enough to find a job in a call centre in Toronto and which was a great opportunity for me to focus on my career I would say. By the grace of God and help of others I am Assistant General Manager in a small size hotel now and I believe every job has its own dignity.

I believe we all can do wonders in Canada.
I couldn't agree more with you and Raj. In my humble opinion, it is shallow thinking to imply that anyone driving a cab or washing dishes is compromising on his/her self-esteem or dignity. Sure, it's probably not the most popular or preferred choice of profession, but it at least earns you your bread and butter. And any honest way to make a living, no matter what it is, cannot and should not be seen as a compromise on dignity. It's definitely better than stealing or starving!
I have a few friends and family in Canada who had good corporate jobs in India. After moving to Canada, they also took up whatever odd jobs came their way in order to find their foothold and not eat into their savings. Now they are all back to doing office jobs of their choice and happily well-settled in their own homes.
Let's not be discouraged or discourage anyone from taking up what we call "survival" jobs. As long as you're not doing anything illegal or hurting anyone, it doesn't matter how you're making your ends meet. To each his own!

@MZASAM why not drive the taxi to Syria and enter Canada as a refugee. Would be faster than OINP

I suppose Canada will take you in as a refugee if you are a citizen of Syria AND you have no other citizenship (you cannot go to any other country). So, yea, we "cannot drive a taxi to Syria and enter Canada as a refugee". Hope that clears your misconception about how refugees are taken in.
