Best send a webform tomorrow asap! And try calling IRCC Call centre although they .ay be difficult to get to
Wife and I called them.

The good news: The tracker is just misleading, and the IRCC is not actually awaiting anything.

The bad news: Neither my wife’s nor my own LPP have started yet…… and my BG is still pending as they have not yet processed my fingerprints.

I have a colleague just received Oath Invitation today. Her AOR is Nov 20. She submitted her fingerprints in Jan? So … I guess we will have to wait, the LPP not start thing is more and more common now. I feel like IRCC wants to get Nov and Dec AORs out first before batch processing Jan AOR.

Hi everyone,

I received an invitation for my citizenship oath ceremony from IRCC today. It's scheduled to be in-person, but I would prefer a virtual ceremony because I’m often working away from home, outside of Edmonton.

The email says to contact them immediately if I prefer a virtual ceremony. I'm wondering—if I request a virtual one, will it cause a delay? Or could I possibly get an earlier date? Has anyone here asked for a virtual ceremony instead of in-person? What was your experience like?

Thanks in advance!

We did a reschedule from virtual to in-person and it was about three weeks later (probably lucky in that from a metro area with regular ceremonies). Have not seen many such requests here and don't recall for the opposite switch.

You should probably assume it's going to result in a delay, hopefully only in some weeks. On the other hand, if you can control your schedule - well, you have a fixed date already. Up to you of course.
