I understood immigration status to be immigrant status (e.g. permanent residence, work visa, asylum, etc)....which would exclude temporary statuses such as visitor or transit visas. But I could be wrong. The question on the application is "Do you currently, or have you ever held immigration or citizenship status in a country or territory other than Canada (this includes your country of birth)? " . My understanding is Immigration status = Work Visa / temporary visa / Travel Visa.
I find it difficult to believe that IRCC would want a list of all temporary visas. That seems a bit excessive.
Whereas they would want to know if you have had any ties to other countries.
