Hi Guys
Im an outland FSW applicant whose 100% progress bar has reached its maximum. I raised a webform and got below reply about my application -
'We verified the information you provided and can confirm that your application is in process at the Case Processing Center in Ottawa, Ontario (CPC-O)
Have few queries as I'm a bit new to raising a webform and what the terms mean -
- The eligibility assessment is in process.
- The background verifications are in process.
- The security background verification has not been initiated.
- The criminal background verification is currently valid.'
a) As I'm from India I thought my file/case should be with the india VO. Can someone please explain why its in Ottawa?
b) What exactly is background verification and security background verification? I'm worried as it's not completed yet.
Will be grateful if someone can plz explain the queries I had.
Hmm that's what it says on their website so who knows. The website could be old/hasnt been updated. There is a separate “country of birth” field. That’s why thought this is country of residence...
Also, just realised. My friend from the USA was born in Japan, as her parents worked overseas. Her country of birth is Japan but her country of origin is the United States. There is a separate “country of birth” field. That’s why thought this is country of residence...
Your security has not started because your eligibility is not yet passed. See the last 3-5 pages for the agent notes.Hi guys,
I have gotten my GCMS notes.
Eligibility: Met
Security: Not Started
Criminality: Passed
Medical: Passed
Info Sharing: In progress
Final:
My AOR is Dec 27th, it's been past 6 months mark and I was wondering what could be the reason Security has not started. What is Security anyway? I thought Criminality and Security is the same thing.
My Agent notes seem fine and everything was clear to the agent, so I guess that's good news.
PS I hope you all keep sane and safe
Thanks so much for clarifying.Your security has not started because your eligibility is not yet passed. See the last 3-5 pages for the agent notes.
See this post where this has been explained. #3,201
Also what's security, see https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/the-anatomy-of-a-background-check-in-depth-analysis.500146/
This is very common. To be sure you have to see the notes entered. Thanks so much for clarifying.
I assumed because Eligibility said "met" it was passed.
Even though I lived in USA for several years I wouldn’t say it’s my origin. Originally I am from India. The word “origin” meaning is different and amazed that in your friends case they would say that her country of origin is United States. Unless and until it’s country of origin of the case it wouldn’t make sense. Also, just realised. My friend from the USA was born in Japan, as her parents worked overseas. Her country of birth is Japan but her country of origin is the United States.
Ghost updates are just generic updates which signifies a movement in your application. Some applicant never receive any GU and their application is approved, others will receive 3-5 duding the processing. Getting a GU and the GCMs notes a day after is just a coincidence since the GCMS notes have no bearing on the processing of your application. They are entirely two different processes.Do we get ghost update for each GCMS request? Please let me know.
I recently got a ghost update, and the same day or next day I got my GCMS notes.
Thanks for the information. I am trying to prove to IRCC that I reside in Canada and have submitted several documentation for the same. It’s possible that it has also caused some update.Ghost updates are just generic updates which signifies a movement in your application. The processing of your application happens under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, whereas the GCMs notes are released under the Access to Information Act.
Since you have completed 6 month period, order GCMS.Hi Guys
