Hey Calgary People.

I moved and I am not updating the address with IRCC in order to keep it all smooth. Also they might move my to Red Deer which I do not want.

I am already a decision made and I am waiting for Oath invite.

Is the Oath invite by email or mail?
Are you able to pay the mail forwarding service Canadá post offers? I’ve heard the invitation is sent by email but just in case you have all your bases covered

Does anyone also experience problem with updating their address in ecas?

I tried twice already (once on June 21 and once on July 3) and my address is still not updated in ecas. Their website says it takes 5 business days to see the updated info. I called cic this morning and they didn't have my new address. The agent updated my address over the phone and I haven't seen the updated info in ecas yet (the agent said it should be instantaneous).

Just to confirm, do all notifications such as test invite and oath invite come in through email?

Test and Oath Invite are sent through email. You can also update your address through Webform and it does take upto 10 days

I had my test today in Ottawa. The questions were pretty simple and i passed 20/20. You should be fine if you read the Handbook at least twice and did some practice questions.

The interview was really short, partly because my travel history was really light post-PR. The officer was really friendly and he asked about my educational background and work experience. I was asked to present my passport and pr card but no other documents were requested.

I was a little surprised to realise it was a paper-based test. For some reason, i thought it was computer-based. There were quite a lot of people there today for the test but the officials were really organised. For parking, i parked at the World Exchange Plaza down the road and walked to the IRCC office.

I was told to expect the oath invite in a month or two so fingers crossed.

I had my test this morning in Ottawa as well and passed 19/20. The guy told me that everything was fine with my application but they still have to do the security clearance which can take up to 4 months before inviting me for the oath.

Does anyone know if that is a normal procedure post test? I understand that it could be due to my nationality being from a high risk country and my travel history but I thought security checks are done earlier in the process..

Nice, that was quick. Did you get an update about you having received the test invite as well (before that) ? My status still shows as "In Process" although I had received the test invite back in June. Still hasn't moved, I'm guessing it's not entirely perfect. In my case the officer who interviewer said my oath will be scheduled in about 3 months, I will just wait for that.

Thanks! I had gotten an update for the test invite that was initially sent by the Saskatoon office in April but i did not get an update for the test invite sent by the Ottawa office. I just checked this morning and instead of In Process it said Decision Made. Maybe most of the processing had already been completed by the 2nd test invite and that's why it changed so quickly. i don't know... Fingers crossed that you get movement pretty soon!

Hello All, Appreciate if you could share feedback on the citizenship test. I am having a hard time remembering dates in chapter 3 concerning history. Is the test focussed equally on all chapters? Any detailed feedback would be very helpful
