Hey guys biometric request letter came for me and my wife but not for our child(4 years old). So it means they don't need any records for our child. Since visa office is far away from out city we don't want to take our child there if it is not a requirement.

And also please tell me is it important to give biometrics as soon as possible? Does it effect processing time? I am asking because the closest biometric collection center is 700 km away from where I live and cic wrote in the letter that I have 1 month for giving biometrics. I'll book a flight according to your replies.

Good day guys.

Waiting for my MEP.
AOR is Dec 26.

I need suggestions though, is it advisable to apply in an institute while waiting for PR? Im targeting this Sept opening of classes. If 6 mos of processing applies I can leave by July.

What you guys think?

Your COPR is valid until the expiration of your medical. So you would not ed to leave what your doing right away.

Biometrics not required for children. We had the same case.

Not sure if they stop processing completely while they wait for your biometrics. For us it’s in the same city so we did biometrics a day after receiving the request.

I understand that you would need to fly to your nearest biometric center, but I recommend you do it as soon as possible and definitely within the one month allotted to you. It may be that they cannot or do not start your criminality and background check without your biometrics, although I can't be entirely sure of this. I was not required to provide biometrics and these changes have just gone through at IRCC. Indeed, January 2019 AORs will be the first cohort where everyone has had to provide their biometrics.

BTW, Mr. @derkdsou and @USProgrammer

You are doing a great job in the thread (keeping it alive) and at the same time are encouraging all to write their signatures, but I can’t see your signatures as you guys have limited who can view your profile. Why’s that?

Hi, @g90, my signature (and that of @USProgrammer) should be visible to everyone. Perhaps you're on a phone right now in which case just rotate your phone sideways and the signature will appear. Likewise, when using the desktop version of this site, our signatures will always appear.

We are lucky that @USProgrammer and other members of this forum bring so much to offer. We are just trying to keep up the energy and also distract ourselves from time to time because, as we all know, the walk to PPR is a long and patient one.

I will assume that you wish to start an educational program in Canada beginning in September and are wondering if you can apply to such programs while you're waiting for your PR to come through? If that is the case, the two things are unrelated and you can go ahead and apply to whatever course of study in Canada you like!

I still can’t see it, not even on my laptop.

But that’s okay. Maybe something is wrong on my end.

I like you both and am thankful to you guys for encouraging all.

Good luck to all here.
