For ANYONE who has an AOR of 31 Dec 2018 or later, regardless of your nationality, you will need to give your biometrics.
Unless you are inland.

What if you haven't given your biometrics before? http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/biometrics.asp
https://www.cicnews.com/2018/07/canadas-new-biometrics-rules-start-july-31-heres-what-you-need-to-know-0710947.html

Inside Canada

If you are applying in person in Canada, you will be able to give your biometric information at specified Service Canada locations starting in 2019. Until then, IRCC says anyone applying for a visa, study or work permit or permanent residence in Canada is exempt from the biometrics requirement.

If you’re eligible to apply at a Canadian Port of Entry (POE) as an international student or temporary worker, you can give your biometrics at these Canadian ports of entry.

What does biometric letter contains???
It contains your name, address, date of birth and all the information on IRCC site as to who needs biometrics. Also contains a stipulated period of 30days one should go give the finger prints. By the letter, it also serves as proof of payment.

Hi...I received MEP on 15th Jan, so, the status was " You passed the medical exam"..Then on 16th Jan I got mail that my application is updated....when I checked my account, the BG check Changed to IP1 but now the medical shows as " we are reviewing the result of your medical exam".. Any idea why medical status changed from "you Passed medical exam" to " we are reviewing the result of your medical exam" ? Hope there is nothing to worry...
I haven't heard of that happening. Mine still says: "Review of medical results: You passed the medical exam." It sounds like you hit IP1 with that email on the 16th.

Maybe they are re-reviewing it for some reason. If you're in IP1, they're surely checking other things in parallel, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. Maybe call CIC if it hasn't changed back in a couple of weeks to ask why it said you passed and then now it says you haven't passed?

Can anyone please help me with following queries:

For resigning from my current job, need to inform IRCC using this link:
https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx

However, I have following queries. Can anyone else help me?

1 Could you please tell me Type of application/enquiry which is needed to be selected on URL provided below?

2 My last day at work will be 15 Feb and if I raise a request today, will that make any difference in processing time of application?

3. Based on current trend, is it ok to expect that PPR can be received within 4 months i.e. Around 10 April? or should I think about extending my last working day?

4. my AoR is 6 Dec. My medical status says - You don't need medical exam. We will send you message if this is changed. Is this normal ??

I'd very thankful if anyone can help me out..

  1. If Inland PR, "In Canada Permanent Residence". If you did an online express entry outside of Canada, "Permanent Residence (applied online)"
  2. I wouldn't bother IRCC until your status has changed, and it won't change until Feb 16. That's just my opinion though. I don't know anything. ;)
  3. It looks like it's around 3.5-4 months for "usual" cases right now. If that makes you feel more secure to stay there that long, why not stay? You don't have to leave the next day for Canada once you are granted PR.
  4. Yes that is usual before MEP.

I would recommend you to wait for your PPR and then resign. Just check other forums where applicants are waiting for months (surpassing the 6 month mark as well). Due to heavy rush of applicants, IRCC's average processing time has increased. I do hope and wish that 4 month benchmark of application processing holds true for us, but you never know.

Can you link to your MyImmiTracker case? I'd like to follow it, since you'd be close to PPR if 4 months holds true.
