Hello,

I thought it would be a good idea to join this thread.

We submitted our applitcation for my boyfriend on December 21st to CPC-M. It shows as delivered on December 29th.

We haven't had an AOR1 yet so hopefully soon. It was probably bad timing to send the package around Christmas rush but at least it's done now

We have done mine for Australia so have been through the process once before and hope we haven't missed anything this time!

We sent our application on 21 December, but it was my fault that i put the wrong address and not the couriers..
Soooooo.. we had this huge ordeal of me trying to find our package, because we used the regular mail service here in Belgium, and then they passed it on to DHL.. which then we did not have the tracking code for DHL... in the end i found the DHL tracking, called DHL to send it to the courier address.

Ahh I totally misunderstood it then. I'm just glad they sent me the email instead of my entire application back in the mail!

I'm going to overnight the form to them tomorrow so hopefully it doesn't delay things by much.
I was the one that received the email, even though it is technically my spouse who needs to fill out the form.

Thats awesome! I'm sure you'll be getting your AOR any day now. I was getting worried too, until I saw the email this morning. I think things might just be a bit slow because of the holidays. Lets keep each other updated and hope for a speedy approval for us both!

Woohoo!!! Was able to link our application on ECAS this morning... officer literally just put it into the system when I attempted to link. I haven't received an email yet for AOR1, but I'm sure it's coming very soon. So exciting to think someone is flipping through our application as I'm writing this

Medical results are passed already - will see if we got the rest of our package correctly submitted, which I'd be surprised if it wasn't given I checked it over 10x!

2.A letter from my husband's friend stating that when we go to Canada we will be staying at his home before we can find jobs or a place to live by ourselves.

3. Health insurance query

Here are my questions:

1. What else I can provide as a proof of my intention to re-establish in Canada?

2. What should be written in the letter from my husbands employer to prove our intention to return to Canada?

That's actually more than most can provide! ;D We weren't able to provide a job offer, since we had no clue as to when we'd be moving, and it would be a few months out anyway. What we did is provide letters: one was from his mother stating that she can attest to him moving back, and her and the rest of his family will help us move back and provide financial support, if necessary. The other letter was from him (the sponsor), explaining that he only lives out of the country to be with his wife (me) and that he will move back to Canada with me. He also explains his plans (we plan on moving to this city, try to transfer to this job, etc.), so it shows how much thought he's put into moving. You just want them to know what your plans are.

Thank you for your detailed reply. I was so worried that If I am missing something because I want it to be perfect an complete. I don't want to make any mistakes that will make our processing time longer.

I discovered there's two places you can check the status of your application:
1) eCAS - https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/authenticate.do?app=
2) myCIC - http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/e-services/account.asp

In eCAS, there is much less information asked than in myCIC when you are asked a bunch of (largely irrelevant) questions to look up your application to link. This is what worked for me to link my account to MyCIC (GCKey) thanks to other forum posters:

1. Logged in with GC Key account.
2. Permanent Residence > Family Class (Spouses)
2. Application Number and Family Name - Copy/pasted application number from email (including the F) and entered PA's last name.
3. City of Birth - I entered 1 space (hit spacebar once)
4. Country of Birth - Selected PA's country of birth
5. Passport Info - Did not enter any passport info
6. Other Application Info - Filled out the other application info as per our application and put '2' as the number of members in the application. I am sponsoring my husband, no dependents.

I didn't have an application number, you're right, so I think I used birthday or last name. It should work though with instructions above because when you think about it, eCAS (ie. option #1) asks really only these questions (ie. Family Name, DOB, Country of Birth, Application).

From my research on the forum, it also appears that the information can differ between the two for whatever reason or use slightly different wording. Obviously, I'll be checking both obsessively........... :-X
