hum.. the formula is correct in the sheet, but I am not sure why your "Permanent Residence Application Status" change to In-Process (Dec 21) before you get the "Sponsorship Application Status"

It's the same with our application. Mine got changed to "in process" even though my husband haven't received
SA yet only AOR1. Hopefully this week hubby will get SA. Good luck to everyone!

Dont rely to much on Ecas and Mycic as long your getting emails regarding your
application its good enough...after SA everything is good ..you just have to wait for
the email for PPR

Hi everyone! I am a newbie here.

Can i ask you guys a few questions? When are we suppose to link our application online? Can i link my application on my own account? And once we get our AOR2, we can link the application on my husband's account? I am confused. A reply is highly appreciated. Thank u in advance.

Here is my timeline:
medical exam done: upfront
Application sent: dec 12,2016
Application rcvd: dec 13, 2016
Aor 1: dec 21, 2016
Sponsor approved and file transfer: dec 28, 201

New user, added my info to the spreadsheet a while ago. Just a few observations:

Our # of days from SA to "In Process" is negative; is this unusual? We got the email for the AOR1 with the case # to log into ecas on Dec 22 and when we logged in it was "In Process" in both columns right away and it says "We started processing XXXXX's application on December 21, 2016." I got the SA approval a week after that on the 29th.

From looking through the other monthly spreadsheets, my application seems to be moving very quickly (app sent 12/10, AOR1 12/13, In Process 12/21, SA 12/29), is it too early to get my hopes up? Other people seem to have months in between each of these steps ??? I know they're trying to get through applicants as quick as possible, but this seems like it's going faster than most; I just want to know if we should prepare for everything to happen much quicker than we first expected?

Not complaining obviously, but if anyone can give us a reality check or additional insight that would be greatly appreciated.

Do we have to wait for aor2 before my spouse can link our application on his own account? For those applicants here, does your sponsored spouse gets the same application number from the sponsor? Or different application number? I am confused. Sorry i asked too much.

Just curious but based on the spreadsheet, some people who have submitted after I had, have received their aor1 even their sa. Would this be because their medical exams were submitted with the application? So processing doesn't depend on who submits first? ;D Btw guys someone i know reccomended that I submit a medical exam upon request, would that take longer for my application to be processed? thanks

I am definitely aware of not relying too much on GC key/ ECAS, my reply was in response to Alayambo and Phuong's observation of the matter. But thanks for your insight

It's probably too early to link your account now since you have just submitted your app. You can link your app when you already have your application number stated on your AOR.

Anyway, you guys can check your application by using the following:


myCIC -- Create a GCKey account first.

No, you don't have to wait for AOR2 to link your account. You can try now. Use the Principal Applicant's information..

Hi.. We tried linking the application using the principal applicant's account/sponsored spouse, it said no application matched. We used the same application number. Or shall we used it on my own account/sponsor to link it?

You can use your account and link the principal applicant's info/app. However, it is advisable that the Principal Applicant has his/her own GCKey account too.

Please try this combination to link your app, didn't work for me but this has helped others:

"1. Logged in with GC Key account.
2. Permanent Residence > Family Class (Spouses)
2. Application Number and Family Name - Copy/pasted application number from email (including the F) and entered PA's last name. If you don't have App Number, use Family Name, Birthday, Place of Birth
3. City of Birth - I entered 1 space (hit spacebar once)
4. Country of Birth - Selected PA's country of birth
5. Passport Info - Did not enter any passport info
6. Other Application Info - Filled out the other application info as per our application and put '2' as the number of members in the application."

What worked for me was I entered all the information needed, even the Passport details, etc. You can try that too. When you enter the App Number make sure you include the letter F.

We need a Jan 2017 thread, just submitted all our stuff today via UPS (courier) overnight, it'll be there with signature confirmation tomorrow at 10am

hello, it's me again. i did try to follow this option but it did not work. and it says i have exceeded the number of attempts to link but no applications found. i was already approved as a sponsor and was informed that the application has been transferred already on dec 28. shall i click the button "link the application" on the screen where it said no application found? or shall i send an enquiry form/technical issue?
