Hi everyone,

I am planing to apply for outland spouse visa for my husband soon. So I will be needing help with some information for the application. I will be really grateful if I get any help from here.

I have some questions regarding the medical exam. The questions are

1. After applying for spouse visa when do they ask for medical exam?

2. For medical exam do we have to do it for all of my husbands family members(mother, brother) who will not be coming to Canada with him or just for my husband.

Thanks in advance

1. It will depend on the visa office as to when they will request for the med_exam.
2. Only your husband except if he has dependent/s from previous relationship.

Thank you for the information. :)

So good news and bad news. I finally got an email regarding my application. It was received 2 weeks ago. The email requests that I send a missing document ( IMM5406 additional family information).

I believe I made a mistake and did not include the form because the principal applicant, my husband, doesn't have any dependents. Do I just fill out the form as N/A?

Also it says to include the letter, which I only have in email form. Could I just print the email and include it?

I originally thought that as well. But for that form you have to fill in immediate family so parents and brothers and sisters whether they are full or step or half siblings.

I made a family sponsorship application on December 06, 2016 and AOR1 received on December 17, 2016. I was waiting for SA approval email or letter. However, today i received this email stating...

This is to acknowledge receipt of your sponsorship application and to advice that your file is presently pending review by an officer. You will be contacted in future for further information if required or as soon as a decision on your application is finalized.

What does this mean? What can trigger a review? kind of worried.

Probably they will request additional info or papers..or probably they will just
clarify some of the details of your application...think positive !! as long
as your did not put any false information on your application you don't have to
worry !!!

Sorry to hear that! I hope that they're able to add that form to your file soon.

It looks like we're on the same timeline and also sponsoring an American spouse, so I'm anxious to get my AOR as well. Did you receive the email or did your spouse get it?

IMM5406 asks for applicant (they exist), parents (will normally have 2), and partner (a logical requirement in a spousal app) - so even with no brothers or sisters or children, it would certainly need to be completed and included.

Print out the pdf that came in the email, which is the letter, and include it with the form.

Application delivered on 12/23/16. No acknowledgements yet, but assuming that is due to holidays. Hoping this goes smoothly.

Hoorah, another US/CA couple! Good luck :)

Did you use old app package or new?

Good day!

We just sent our application Dec 19,2016. I just want to ask how long do you think until we can get a confirmation email from them?

Thank you so much!

Ahh I totally misunderstood it then. I'm just glad they sent me the email instead of my entire application back in the mail!

Thank you! Luckily its a simple form to fill out and send to them.

I'm going to overnight the form to them tomorrow so hopefully it doesn't delay things by much.
I was the one that received the email, even though it is technically my spouse who needs to fill out the form.

Thats awesome! I'm sure you'll be getting your AOR any day now. I was getting worried too, until I saw the email this morning. I think things might just be a bit slow because of the holidays. Lets keep each other updated and hope for a speedy approval for us both!:)

Are you currently living with your American spouse?
