Hello everyone, I have a curious question...At which point of the process does ecas show that medicals were received? When still in aor 1 stage or at aor2 stage?

It is different for everyone. Some people have it updated to medicals received in AOR1 process, there are others who have had their application at their visa office abroad for over 8 months and it has still not been updated to medicals received.

I wouldn't worry about ECAS. It is not a real time accurate reflection of what is happening with your application.

Also please remember many second stage visa offices do not send out AOR2, so not everyone will receive one.

Guys question....my ppers were sent to vo already... Am i allowed to visit back home?? Even for a month or two at anytime, the papers is still on process for my husband... will be affected when i come out of canada?

Im really wanting to come home to visit will waitng for the papers.

This is incorrect information.. Only a Canadian born in Canada as a sponsor can travel outside the country for an extended period of time. Any one else can only take 1-2 weeks while in this process .

I sent my papers Dec 17, they received them Dec 18, 2014.
I was approved to be a sponsor for my hubby who is in Jamaica on Mar 7th. Now, we are just waiting I guess?

Received an e-mail from Paris today requesting that we re-do the medical because it is expired and that we send them a copy of a renewed passport because it is expiring in July. They specifically wrote this about the passport: "We note that your passport will expire soon. This may affect the validity of your permanent resident visa. We strongly recommend that you have the passport renewed or the validity extended as soon as possible."


I never received AOR2 but this e-mail makes me happy to know that they have already started processing our file!

We have to have the above submitted to Paris within 30 days.

Good news! At least you know that they already start processing! My application is still sitting on someone's desk in Singapore and don't know when they are going to see it..I have to pray hard that they will start processing it soon. From the Singapore timeline, roughly about 3 months after AOR2 that they started to ask for passport. But then again who knows..maybe it's longer than that..

By mean time.I have left canada on 19th March and come to India for a month Vacation, which is planned much earlier (Thinking that sponsor will happen in 90 days max).

My questions is

1) Should I call CIC to check about the letter or wait till I come to canada and check abt the same. (Reaching Canada on 17th April)

I think its safe to assume that you have SA. I would say wait until you return to Canada to check your mail, but I know that is easier said then done and the wait would drive me crazy.....lol

If you do try and call CIC from outside of Canada it is my understanding that you have to use a service like magic jack because you cannot call the regular number from outside of Canada.
