I have just ordered Receipt for Payment IMM 5401 which will be delivered to my address in about two weeks. Do I take a check for $1,040 along with the completed form to any bank (BMO, TD, CIBC) to make the payment or I can make the payment by card there?
No no, just take the receipt to the bank :) They will process the payment for you. There is something you need to fill up on the receipt and the bottom portion i believe is what you include in your application. Double check the sponsor's guide.

Hi everybody!!

I'm finishing to review all the forms, and completing the support documents so we could send it hopefully next week, and i got a huge doubt and I hope some of you guys can help me, here is the situation.

I am Mexican and my husband is a Canadian citizen, we been living together since January 2011 in Mexico. We got religious married in June 2014, my husband got a job offer in Quebec and he moved in July 2014 to Quebec, since Mexico its becoming in some parts NOT very safe we decide to move here in Canada. I got my multiple entry visa, i came here in august 2014, and still here.

We are applying OUT-LAND since obviously it's faster. And here it is when i got the mix in my head... When I'm filling the forms where THEY ask my RESIDENCE ADDRESS I wrote the one here in Quebec as I'm living with my husband, but I'm just wondering if I SHOULD write down the MEXICAN ADDRESS????

Please help me out...I'm too close to finish the application that I feel so frustrated with this!!!

Thank you!!!

PS: I'm still have my visitor visa ( after I send the sponsorship application I will apply for extend the stay)

You should no longer apply as an outland applicant coz as per new rule, you will be granted work permit if your husband's sponsorship application gets approved. That way you will be able to stay with your husband and even legally work until a decision is made on your application.

nothing to worry about. it's perfectly acceptable to use the canadian address. you want the address where you will be when you get approved. that is where CIC will send your visa to. There is nothing wrong and it won't negatively affect your application in anyway.

no. really bad advice.
manere can be IN canada for the duration of the entire outland process. the open work permit "carrot" is not always the best reason to apply inland for people. there is no proof YET the OWP will be issued as promised. inland takes 2 years. a majority of outland applications take less than 1, most in 8-10 months.

Thanks Rhcohen2014, I was worry for the address because I am VISITOR. Since I will get everything in the Canadian address, I will still need to send all the documents that CIC will request (passport, police records, etc) to Canadian Embassy in Mexico right?

My address it's just to send me the notifications? or what else they will send me?

I read somewhere in the forum that they send me the original letter requesting my police records which I have to bring to process to my address in Mexico (my mother's house) so she can does all the process to get it, and later send it to the Canadian embassy. So, if I get it here in Canada i just send the letter, the fingertips and the photos to my mom right?

Thanks again :)

Hi jaggy999,

I know the new disposition, however , I want to be able to travel back home If I need to. And if I apply IN LAND I may NO leave Canada in any emergency case or my application will be shout down. That is at least what i know, and for that reason I put aside since the beginning the IN LAND application.
Thanks

the mailing address you put in your applicaiton is what CIC will use for any communication sent by mail, mainly your approval paper/passport with visa. you will have to inquire about the process for mexico in the thread specific to that office. all offices have different procedures, and i know mexico specifically has their own system for criminal checks. i am not familiar with that process.

Joining this thread as we finally sent our papers in :)

Yes, we started an inland application when we lived in Canada 10 years ago, but thanks to the 'no travelling' rule we ended up terminating our application so that we could get on with our lives... Now living in NZ for the past 7 years (much easier and personal immigration process here, that's for sure!!!), and planning to move back to Canada in April or May. Fingers crossed!!!

Hey, another question :D ...

In the "sponsor questionnaire" where they ask the address of the sponsor, and after with who the sponsor LIVES should I type my name? even if I am visitor...

Thanks
