I think CIC is confused! I know with previous applicants that when I was waiting in the September line, the people who waited longer received both SA and COPR due to it being processed in Miss and not Ottawa; so here's to us Fab!

Lol you are positive!
I am not even aiming that hard! I just want the da... SA for god's sake!

Hi! My application was received December 3rd, so here's hoping we get a notification of receipt in the next three weeks...

I'm most concerend about the massive jump from 11 months to 29 months in the London office, which is where we expected our application to be processed...

Hello,

I submitted the FBI background check request at the end of October, and FBI is finally ready to mail it to me. How will I send that report to CIC? I haven't heard back from CIC so I don't have any application ID's or numbers. My husband became a Canadian citizen (from UK) a couple of years ago, so we have his CIC number. I also have the medical number from my medical exam.

How did you mail your FBI report?

I appreciate any feedback.

I think you'll have to wait until you get your AOR and SA, then you'll have a UCI number and you can send it to your VO. As long as they receive it before the 3 month mark from the date on the report it will be fine. They give you an address in the AOR and/or SA to send additional info to, I believe.

You should send it in your initial application. I sent everything with mine, otherwise you'll have to wait until they request it. If it is older than a year or close to, you'll need to request another; FBI certificates expire within 1 year at CIC.

no, that's not correct. the MEDICAL has a 12 month validity. CIC only considered the police record valid for 90 days from the date it was received by the applicant. the fact an FBI record is doesn't expire for 1 year has nothing to do with how long CIC considers it valid for. if CIC receives the record after 90 days of it being issued, most likely they will request another one down the road.

if the FBI record was not sent with the original package (as it's very common to do now), then it can't be sent until after SA, when instructions are given about how to send it to the appropriate visa office.

Got it. Thank you rhcohen and michmin. I now understand that the bottom line is, we cannot send the FBI report to them until we get the SA and the corresponding application number.

We are still waiting to receive the FBI background check. We had applied in October and have yet to receive it. I believe there were delays with the whole system. Did you receive yours?

According to FBI, my mail got received by FBI on October 27th and when I called them for status last Friday (2/13), the guy said my background check has been completed and they will mail out the report in 48 hours. Today (2/15) is a national holiday so maybe it will be mailed out tomorrow. He said it will be by first class mail so I hope I will receive mine by the end of the week.
