I will try calling them...Let's see what they have to say. I called them last Thursday, I spoke with a French speaking lady, who asked me to wait till 03/10. She said, there was no record of my application.

I tried calling them now but due to large number of calls the call was not passed to agent so cudnot speak to cic agent.

Hey guys hold urselves, plz dont believe anybodies words and create panic. If the cap for 2014 is full cic will anounce by itself, and as far as we hve seen the agents dont give much information on cap status. May be some confusion might be there. God is great, believe him, and till u hear urself from cic dont create panic. We hve waited so many days patiently, lets wait for some more days.

I called today 2 times to cic.. First time agents said.. I didnt provide Pcc from canada so they retruned my file.. But truth is i never been to canada.. Than why would i need to submit pcc .,

I called them again to reconfirm.. Another agent said.. U hv done phd from canada.. Its showing in their system... I had no answer.. Lol.. I hv nvr hoped this type if experience with cic..

Really canada desperately need professionals to run their country..

For NOC 2172 the charging stopped sometime in 2nd week of Feb,2015. My guess is the sub-cap at that time.Now the rejection letter was generated in last week of February, and dispatched to me on 27-Feb-2015. With in those 2 weeks (from 2nd week to last week of Feb ) my guess is they have done opening all the applications (irrespective of NOC) received so far and did the checks to determine all the applications are counted for. If they dispatched my app in 2nd week of Feb my guess is they wouldn't have mentioned the line saying we have received so many number of applications.

Based on reasoning, I do not doubt ceelogreen's statement. I had, in an earlier post, remarked about 500 apps per Sub-NOC but it seemed not to have been accepted by some on the forum. As analysed by ceelogreen, I believe that all the applications were sorted out per Sub-NOC, opened and analysed. As is expected of those requiring quality workforce, the applications will be ranked (i.e. some sort of application profiling) and the number of applications required to fill the cap will be selected. This may account for the reason some later date applications formed part of the cap while some earlier dated applications were returned.

With respect to the expected 1,000 applications per NOC, this will probably be to leave some room for incomplete applications or applications that do not meet the minimum 67 points.

On the bright side, it is not yet game over for some 29-31 Dec applicants as a friend of mine whose application receipt date was 30 Dec (NOC 1114) was charged on Saturday.
