It means you have 1 year to land in Canada, or until your medical or passport (eg: if your current passport with the visa stamped on is only valid for 6 months, you have to land before that, regardless of the medical) is valid. After you land you'll become a PR and you won't need a visa anymore! Because the visa is only for you to land and "activate" your Permanent Resident status at the border/airport.

Thank you so much for clearing that up!

Happy new month everyone! Let's see if there will be any interesting movements this month 8)

The start of month 5 or 6 for some depending on when the application was submitted. We'll keep our fingers crossed. ;D

I'm not expecting anything till late fall, but I'm ordering another set of GCMS notes just to keep me busy :P

The thread has been quiet, I guess everyone is just waiting patiently. How about we do something fun in the meantime? Since this is a very international place with people from the world over, let's exchange some traditional recipes! I'm always in the market for new cooking ideas :)

Hi Palara. This is the thread for people who applied in December. You should go to the Jamaica thread:

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/kingstonjamaica-t29680.0.html

They will be able to relate to you much more.

And here is the thread for people who applied in Oct:

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/october-2013-outland-applicants-join-here-t166527.0.html

Also, you can only add stuff under your name when you have 10 posts or more.

Good luck!

Yes, it's Vienna. They are at 14 months processing times at the moment and according to the spreadsheet, just a couple of applications got approved earlier than that. In fact, there are still people from 2012 that are waiting, so my hopes to be done soon are not too high.

Is your father "Messenger"? I think you're very lucky to have Rome as your VO, they are moving fast. Your dad should be done soon too, we just had a COPR in Vienna from an April 2013 applicant.
