We got first AOR Dec 28, SA 10 days later and AOR from Sydney 6 days after that. It was only 6 days from there before I received the doc request too so it's all pretty fast in the beginning... After the arduous wait for the initial AOR that is.

I think some applicants with Sydney VO have received their visas in 3 months. So with the speed your VO is working on your application looks like you will be done with the process much before the average processing time. ;D

Hi Shaw, just curious- if ur spouse is in Bangladesh, why did u not choose NDVO but chose singapore? NDVO is faster, right...

As per CIC, visa for Bangladeshies are issued from SVO.

SVO is allocated some countries and Bangladesh falls under SVO. I saw that in some CIC documents/ website. Moreover a Visa officer of Singapore of Canadian origin when deal with Bangladeshi visa cases he knows that some documents are not available in Bangladesh like Baptismal certificate and Household registaries. Delhi VO of canadian origin may not know it or may not feel confident, then he will create problem. Also CPC-M will not allow me to go to Delhi and I do not see any one opted for Delhi VO.

Thanks for your interest.

Hi guys,

I'm also a December sponsor. I am a naturalized Canadian citizen and sponsored my husband who is currently in Malaysia. I'm also living with him at the moment. Our VO is Singapore and it's an outland application.

File Sent: Dec 12, 2013
File Received: Dec 13, 2013
Decision Made: January 15, 2014

Even though the decision has been made I still haven't received any letter from them (neither mail or email). So, i'm wondering how long does it take?

We also haven't sent the medical yet because i was told that i would to wait until they ask for it. is that right?

If you gave them Sponsor email, then CPC-M most probably sent you an email SA. You call them and they will tell that.

That's the problem, I DID give them the email address but so far haven't received any email from them either. So I'm really starting to worry. :(

Same happned to me, call CPC-M tomorrow and they will let you know if your are approved for sponsorship and then ask them to resend the email. You will not be satisfied with their answer, so also fillup a email form available in the CIC website. Or send an email at question@cic.gc.ca. They will definitely act on that within 3 days. I did that and they resend me SA pasting on my email as reply.

My husband just recieved an email saying his application was recieved for permanent resident on 27/01/2014 with a UCI number...does this mean singapore has recieved our file ?

It's only 6:15am in Canada. They will open only after 3 hours (assuming they start at 9am) and we will have to wait to hear from them. :'(

I know :( but no AOR means they're not even close to transferring my file to Sao Paulo, right? Considering how slow they are now.

Like, come on, we gave them $1,000 for the application, it's only fair to send us an e-mail :o

Yes, but they have been slow whole of last week. So I feel this week will be OUR week.

My sponsor can finally access ECAS today which only says "Application received" but atleast some activity going on.

I am sure you will hear from them anytime now!!!

Hi there,

Some updates from our end:

- Stage one AOR: 9 January 2014
- Sponsorship approval: 23 Jan 2014
- Medical results received update: 28 Jan 2014

Fingers crossed!

EDIT: According to some research that I've done, this message about the medicals appears when the VO opens your file. The first thing they do is to request your medical file from the data base/ health branch. So this means my file is in Vienna :) :) I'm not expecting an AOR from Vienna though, because it seems they don't sent AORs.

That is good news to hear, Avadava! Congrats. Ours changed to "Medical Results Received" about 5 days after my SA, so it would be awesome if someone at least has knowledge of the existence of our application in Ottawa! I'm taking this all as a good sign. :P
