Hey everyone. Is the quiet like the eye of a storm?? ::) More specifically, the eye of an avalanche.......

I haven't seen anything from Ottawa as yet, but I plan on emailing them today or tomorrow to see if they respond. It's been 2 weeks since my transfer. I know that sometimes VOs don't even send an AOR at all.

Yes very true! It's been 2 weeks almost since mine also...but I've been seeing people say anything from 2weeks to 3 months ...I can't imagine it taking 3 months to be sent.

It's quiet today. Hoping to see at least one SA today.

CPC-M is busy clearing their mess rather issuing new AOR and SA.

Just an acknowledgement of receipt of the file. You know, simple courtesy :P. CIC doesn't seem to be consistent in the courtesy department

Inconsistencies across the board..LOL!

Actually I think I'll wait until my CSQ is processed before contacting them. I don't want to be that pain in the ass

Understandable :) I think I'll probably contact them in a month or so....that gives them 6 weeks to figure it out..open it up..log some stuff...and then I can say HIIIIIII :P

Patience, unfortunately I think Ottawa is one of the VOs that doesn't regularly send out an AOR. If you look at the CPP-Ottawa thread, most people have not received an AOR, including those that have already landed. But like everything, it does seem like there are exceptions. So who knows! :o

Hmmm.... all the more reason why I will contact them once my CSQ is sent.

I feel like we need to be on top of our applications. I've seen stories of people who send their application and 1 year later they are wondering why they haven't heard anything, only to realize that CIC had sent an email 4 months previously which they never saw requesting certain things, they miss the deadline and their file gets closed or something.

Soooo paranoiddddd :o

I know what you mean. You want to have faith in the system, but it seems like it fails all the time!
Our FBI background check was 3 days out-of-date when they received our application, so we're sending a new one without prompting as soon as my hubby gets it. I figure once we mail that in, I'll send an email a few weeks later to make sure they got it. It's so hard when it's out of your hands. :(

Agreed completely.

Apparently we're allowed to submit documents directly to the VO on certain days. When I'm in Jamaica in April, my husband and I are going to submit some additional proof of relationship that we thought of after the application was sent in.

Hopefully they pull the file and say "ohhh we should just finish this now!"

Well at least that's nice that Mississauga didn't say "NOPE sorry, this FBI check is 3 days expired" and returned your application. My police checks were expiring the week after the application was submitted. The FBI one is not an issue to redo, but the other one from my husband's country is a pain in the butt and expensive to get so I'll just wait for them to request a new one.

Haha Wifey, that may be wishful thinking, but at the same time, WHO KNOWS???
