Have u receive the acknowledgment of receipt?coz usually it
will arrive 3weeks to -1month or earlier if they received the
application. In my case I did not receive any after 2mos I think,
so we contacted them and we were advised to send the lacking documents
within 45days or else they will send it back..it was returned

Hi zelmercphil, what does an AOR look like? My husband is sponsoring me and we just sent our application in mississauga last dec 3. Then, we received an email last dec 17 from cic saying that our documents were received last dec 11 and to use the uci number of my husband when inquiring about the status. Is that what everyone here is pertaining as the AOR? I'm a newbie here and i'm confused with the acronyms ;D

"this confirms that your application to Sponsor a member of the Family Class has been received by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) on 2013/12/10" -this is the email that my husband received from the CIC, not really sure tho if this is the AOR.. it indicates our application no. and our UCI. He just received the email yesterday.

Hi there! My husband also received that same email after 5 days, he was sent that email. I was posting questions here what an aor looks like-if it's a letter type sent or email ;D i guess we got that apr then. Hope everything works out well for all of us

AOR means acknowldgmnt of receipt..

I think I'm having anxiety about mine because I don't even have the tracking from Canada Post to ensure me that my package arrived. It's the worse feeling in the world.

Have no fear about yours because many people get AOR and sponsor approval around the same time.

well did you send it via xpresspost liek have you lost your tracking # or did you just send it via regular mail?? cus if you sent via xpresspost and lost the reciept you can go to canada post tell them how you bought the envelope (debit and credi) they should be able to track the purchase/tracking #

just a suggestion...honestly its kinda worrying cus a lot of work went into the file and last thing i want is them not getting it.....dont worry hopefully we will hear from them soon,....and as far as 28 days i'm half way thjere :'(

Yes, I sent it for next day delivery, and the tracking is stuck on ' Processed at Mississauga Sorting Facility'. Apparently if it was delivered, they did not scan it upon delivery. Customer service said most likely it was delivered. Unfortunately, 'Most likely' doesn't give you peace of mind.
