We don't know all the factors that cause delays. We all agree that the Christmas season was one reason for the slow-down. But who knows if in December, there was or was not an increase in applications? Could be possible. More applicants + same amount of resources = increased times.

I agree with Wifey, even family immigration is a privilege. Does it suck and drive you nuts when things take a super long time? Of course. It also sucks when you don't get real time updates and processing times. I personally don't think that anyone should have to wait for more than 6 months to be reunited with their loved ones, but due to 1 reason or numerous, this is the way it is for most applicants. (I envy those who get through in 4 months and things like that!)

We all have to try to be patient in this stressful process, and lean on each other for support

Amen, Patience. I would be going crazy (and driving my husband crazy) if I hadn't found this forum. It's nice to talk the process out with people who are in it with you. Right now I'm trying to look forward to some warmer weather, as it seems likely that'll happen before the hubby is legally up here.

Also, I wonder if the influx of all the new family applications have caused a slowdown in Mississauga?

MLB! Agreed - I would be going insane! It's good to see where you are in comparison to others and knowing the slow down is just a normal part of the process and you're not an outlier! LOL

Warmer weather....agreed x 2! I booked my flight to Jamaica - April cannot come soon enough!

see the problem is- they are updating the website with a very conservative date. what they have done (from what i culd gather from the call center person is) -they have opened up all the files and have just kept in in open status without making any decision and or updates. So we now have a bunch of files open across various desk in CPCM with no significant movement. And also as is their practice, they would not work half of friday and whole of weekend and which takes us into last week of January. I am not being impatient or trying to be negative but am being pragmatic and realistic. One of the earlier posters said 'immigration is not a right but privelege' yes it is a privelege when it coems to the first person in the family trying to immigrate but not when one person has already immigrated and is paying taxes and wants to bring her/his family over- then it becomes a full blown consitutional right. And a right which cannot be trodden upon on because of sheer lethargy of a government official.

I think rogerset is right.

I said that I did not get my SA letter till Jan 22. I called call centre on Jan 20 and the representative told me that my SA was approved on Jan 7 and they sent the SA by email which I did not get, though I got my AOR on Jan 1 by email and ECAS it was updated that my letter was send by mail. There was no SA in my Junk mail. When I requested the guy to resend it, he declined that 2nd time they can not send it by email. Now they can send by mail which will take 6 weeks. We have to agree. As I do not belive the call centre people, on Jan 20 night I sent an email to CIC filling a form in their website asking the SA for record.

On Jan 22, I again call the call centre and they guy told me that my SA was approved on Jan 7 and on my request the guy agreed to arrange to resend the SA by email. Strange . On my equiry the guy told me that they did not tranfer my file to Singapore VO yet. When I request him to send the file to SVO he told me that he can not help me in this matter.
Afterward I filled up on email form in the CIC website requesting to resend my SA and quickly trasfer my file to SVO for record.
I am thinking I will wait for this week and then go to my MP for help. I think he has hot line with CIC.

Any suggestion will be appreciated that what can I do ?

Let me get this straight

Karthik's app was recvd on Dec 18th and they send him AOR today.

On their website, they say they are working on Applications received on Dec 18th.

Does this mean they are only sending AOR for applications received Dec 18th? Or are they actually working on sending SAs for ones received on Dec 18th? This is confusing!

Finally I got my SA by email pasted (attached) to the reply at my complain at Question@cic.gc.ca.

My suggestion if anyone has any issue with CPC-M, don't talk with Call-centre as those are useless guys.

Just send email at Question@cic.gc.ca or fillup a form CIC website for the same address. That is a racord and CPC-M can not avoid their responsibility. They must act.

Shaw, congrats

But you also were talking about another angle to your problem- which is they have not yet Transferred your file to Spore VO, right? Have you figured that angle out?

In SA they have mentioned that they transfered my file to SVO. I assume when they sent me this SA- email, they re-visited the fault and sent it to SVO.

I also requested in my 2nd email to transfer the file to SVO. Hopefully they did it and if they reply the 2nd email then they will let me know of that.

Otherwise I will call the Call-centre and enquire about that and if required I will send them another email.

At least I am littlebit relieved getting this SA which I should get on Jan 7.

Hi, there
in ECAS, under PR application, it shows medical result has been received now... :)
