Do we need to wait for the AOR to check "ECAS" ? I was reading on forum that we will get an ID in AOR ?

Can we not check it against our PR CARD # (Client ID #) ??

Hi all,

It appears that applications from August 2013 onwards are moving really fast and I read on the forum that some have already received test invitations. Hope the trend continues.

I have been checking ECAS for the past week using my PR Client ID and all I see is my complete PR Renewal Application!!

Though I am employed full time for the past 3 years, my application period includes one year of unemployment and I was in the Middle East for a number of years before moving to Canada. Both these points make my application high risk(as per me) and just to be sure, I have applied for my CBSA records.

For other who would like to do the same, note that they sent me an email asking for the following -

1) Date of Birth
2)Passport Number with Date of Issue and Expiry Date
3)Copy of both sides of PR Card.

Cheers!!

Checked with the call center today...the Dec 2013 applications will take another 2-3 months to receive an AOR. Currently they r processing applications through Oct 31.

I guess its random, check this member from Nov 2013 he already received his test letter. So i think its mostly based on local office.

No once u send to Sydney, NS... then they sent the apps to local office based on your residence and postal code.

Hi folks..my application reached CIC on 29th November 2013. I do not have any update yet. I think it will take few more weeks.

All the best

Any idea what's the trend for the Calgary office ?

:o Do you guys think that December 13 apps will be cancelled due to changes in Citizenship Act? I would be so disappointed. Our aps are not technically "in process", just received.

Ideas?

The problem now that they can return it saying you have to pay the new fees which 400 CAD instead of 200 , because new fees is effective from today.

The new citizenship rules haven't even been passed yet (the bill has to pass before the rules kick in). Passing bills is not a short process. I also think it's very unlikely they will make these rules retroactive.

The fee has been changed before presenting the bill.... i wonder if they ask for the additional amount.
