Hi All,

I completed my landing on Nov 18 2014 @ Rainbow Bridge at 11.45pm. :) :) :) :) :) 8)

I walked across bridge ,I was lucky that no one was in line ,and told them I am here for flag-poling and the lady was polite and did the process in less than 2 mins

Now I walked back to Canadian side ,I was the only one again so officer there on counter gave yellow slip and guided me to building on right side of the counter.

I gave my passport and COPR at the counter ,lady Officer asked me for address proof to send my PR card.

She asked me to wait, then in less than 2 mins she called me again and told me PR obligations.

She told me it will take 3 weeks to get my PR card..

Total process took me less than 5 mins.

Thanks for the support guys.

Good Luck to Everyone.

Congrats.. and Thanks for sharing your experience...

Hi Saini2012,

The current processing times for in-Canada online applications are 29 days, refer to CIC link http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/temp.asp.

I hope this helps.

Hi

Consider what is more important, status in Canada or a trip home.

Ok, we sometimes have to do what is needed for family, however is it not better to just hang on that little bit longer and secure our future?

Thx

i have no choice but have to go back...

Don't worry. You will be fine by February. You just need to get your official passport request email from CIC before February. You are then good to go for your vacation. Arrange the stamping at High Commission, New Delhi and come back once you are done with the processing. That would help you as "Landing" as well.

Consider the above as the worst case. If everything happens smooth, you may land by December or January. Do not get panic from now. Just chill. CIC generally likes suspense thrillers with their applicants where every minute counts. In the end, most of their thrillers would have a "Happy Ending" :)

If you already applied for Bridge Open Work Permit, you will get the work permit within 3 to 4 weeks max. As you are leaving in Feb 2015, you have enough time to get the BOWP in hand.

If you received your bridge open work permit before leaving to India, then you are fine. Once you reached India, All you have to do is go to VFS office near to your hometown. Before going to VFS office you need to fill TRV application and couple of other forms and carry your original passport and Open Work Permit. Approximately Rs. 30,000/-rupees fee (per person) for TRV stamping required. If you have family (spouse and kids, then you have to pay fee for them as well). VFS will then send all these documents to Canada Delhi office. Approximately 10 working days you will get your Visa stamped and returned to your home address. Ask VFS that you want multiple entry and same will be granted by Canada Consulate. Let me know in case of any questions. By the way I'm in the same boat during July and returned to Canada (along with my Family in Sep' 14) with TRV without any issue at the port of entry.

Let me know in case if you still have any questions.
