All CEC applications are processed at CPP-Ottawa irrespective of your place of application/ country of residence/visa office selected in application.

I applied from Australia and selected Sydney, Australia as my visa office.

Got confirmation from CPP-Ottawa that my application is in Queue at CPP-Ottawa for review by a visa officer.

If your country of residence is outside Canada and you select visa office in your country of residence, if any interview required, you may be asked to attend locally rather than coming to Canada, you may also get your stamping done in the visa office you selected in your application...this is just my thought..

How are you ordering gcms? Are you in Canada / India? Please note that only people residing in Canada can request gcms. If you are in India, you can ask a friend who is currently in Canada.

Though I have selected my Office as New Delhi..I have sent my application to Novascotia as per directions in CIC website.

Yeap..I have requested one of my friend to do that on behalf me.. Thanks for the information.

One trend that I have seen so far is that NOC 2174 is processed a lot faster than other NOCs. Even though people with NOC 2174 can progress to NOC 2171 with experience, NOC 2171 is not processed faster. I see that we both have NOC 2171. Based on trackers, I see a lot of 2171 candidates, even from Nov 2012, still waiting for MR. I hope to get MR soon.

Good luck.

Hello All,

I have submitted my application on December 6th, 2012 under CEC from Vancouver, BC.

I have updated my application with my spouse information after getting married and about his work permit status.

I have not received any update so far from CPP-Ottawa.

Online application status still showing Application Received date and no progress after that.

Can anyone please tell me how can I track my application and see what is going on with it?

Is there anyone who has applied in the same period as mine and got their medicals done ??

I am a bit worried on this. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks
Saranya.

Have you received your AOR?

@eds1275..yeah..In fact half of my experience was with 2174 but last 2 work permits are with 2171..on which I worked for half of the time with continued validity till Mar 2013. I don't know what will they look at and will perceive.. :-\

Hello Kaanva,

Yes, I got my Application Number on January 30, 2013.
I have not got any update after that.

I have been submitting all my spouse information like his Visitor visa, work permit etc and added him so that we both can get PR at the same time.

That is what our plan, but I did not hear anything so far yet.

Any help or ideas are appreciated.

Thanks
Saranya.

Hey Saranya,

Just to understand your situation better - When did you apply for your husband? I presume you married him after sending your CEC application in Dec 2012. Applying for his work permit and visa will not add your spouse to your PR application. Not sure if you did this, but you must inform CPP-Ottawa through email that you married and that you want to add your spouse to your application. CPP-Ottawa will request then request you to submit revised forms completed by you and your spouse along with payment of 550 and his police certificate, birth certificate etc.

If you have already done the above, you can submit a request for GMCS notes - it will provide a detailed info about the status of your information. you can submit a request for gmcs online - https :// atip-aiprp.apps.gc.ca/atip/

Hope this helps.

I too submitted with both 2174 and 2171. But my GCMS notes only mentions 2171 - I guess CIC only considers one NOC.

Hello eds1275,

Thanks for your detailed reply.

You are right. I got married in 27 December, 2012 after submitting my CEC application.
I have informed CPP-Ottawa about my marital status and yes, they have requested me to submit revised forms with $550 additional payment.
I did all that in this March 27, 2013, once I have my husband here in Canada (as a visitor).
Also, I have updated CPP-Ottawa on my spouse open work permit on 15 August, 2013.

I got reply from them stating "Thank you for your email. You application is in queue to be seen by officer. We will contact you with further information at a later date."

I will check the link you provided and try to submit a request for GMCS notes.
But, I am just wondering
1. if all other applicants who applied along with me already got medical requests ??
2. Is it just mine getting delayed due to all these updates?
3. Would this GMCS request could also increase my processing time?
4. How long would it take to receive a reply after submitting GMCS request?

Thanks again,
Saranya.

Thanks again,

1. Its October and until now most of the September Applicants are getting their MR's and barely nobody of the other months. So you can imagine that the wait will be a little bit long still...
2. No one is getting delayed, it looks like but it's not .strike pushed everything a month in delay...so expect to finish all the process by January-Feb.
3. No it won't. But it would be a great idea to apply 'cus it takes around 30 days to receive it.
4. 30 days.

GCMS does not increase processing time. Simply put, GCMS notes provides detailed status of your application. GCMS notes are sent after 1 month from the date of request.

Processing time depends on lot of factors. Most important one being the visa officer. Its the visa offer who is assigned your file who decides when to issue medical test etc. Though they have some guidelines, visa officers process applications on their own discretion - there is nothing we can do about it !

There are folks waiting for more than 12 months. There are people who got PR in 9 months. Unfortunately, we are really not sure how applications are processed.

I wish you luck !
