I just wanna know something about ECAS. In the sponsorship approval letter which I got they have mentioned a file no. which starts with F0001*****. In my case my husband has sponsored me under family class. My husband became PR in September last year. Now how do I check my ECAS. One step is that I login with the file no. mentioned above and put my personal details then it shows only this line "We received your application on 04/12/2012". But as other people say their ECAS shows "Decision Made" on left side and "In-process" or "Medicals Recieved line" on the other side then how come that mine is showing nothing else. I am selecting the option of 1. Sponsorship 2. Sponsoring a spouse/child living outside of Canada option in the "Check Application Status" in the ECAS.

Now pls tell me am I selecting the right options or there is some other way to check the ECAS.

Hi :)
when you sign in with the file number and your information... all you see if the information for the principal applicant. If you want to see where it has both the sponsor and the principal applicant you need to log in with the file number and the sponsor's information. But with ECas acting up lately you may have to use the UCI # for the sponsor in this format - 0000-0000
Hope this helps

Just letting people know that we are in a similar situation as some others who haven't heard back, but applied in late November/ early December.

I'm the sponsor, and we are living in New Zealand at the moment (she's slovak though).

I've tried phoning the call centre (the 888 number) via skype, and it didn't work, then I tried with the 1 - 613-944-4000 number, which worked at first, but once it tried to connect me to the call centre, it said that I could not be connected from my current location.

Has anyone had success contacting the call centre from outside of canada?

Thanks

Not sure about having any luck.. but someone suggested this from the november thread.

"if you applied before the date on the processing times page, you can inform CPC-Mississauga by choosing one of the links below. Please include the Sponsor's name, date of birth, and UCI Number or Application Number if known in all correspondence. You will not receive a reply to questions or enquiries about other topics."

It worked for me, I have only tried it once and I timed it so I called right at 8 am Mississauga time and had no problem talking to an agent.

I was reading on another thread that it might be because I was phoning through skype. I'll buy a phone card tomorrow and give it a try.

I did end up trying the phone card, and it still didn't work. Perhaps the phone card just redirects me to a voip service like skype?

Has anyone tried emailing CIC as suggested by Ms Malawi? I've given it a shot, not sure how long it will take them to respond though. If anyone has experience with waiting for email response, let me know.

Chris

For those of you that are interested, emailing CIC worked and they got back to me within a couple days.
