Update: member Sweden gave me a telephone number that may be useful for others who are applying from outside of Canada (my husband is Mexican): I called that number and spoke to a courteous agent (a big change from the bureaucrats I've dealt with so far), and although there was no real update, he did send CIC a reminder that the agents were behind schedule. I also got in touch with our MP's representative, and she let me know on March 4 that my sponsorship was approved.
Here's the useful number for calling from outside of Canada, thanks to Sweden:
"+ 1 - 613-944-4000 then press 1, for English, then press 2, then you'll get switched to CIC call center, then press 0 then press 2, and you'll be connected to an agent."
It's now May 1, and I see on the CIC information site that "they" have received my husband's medical. On their schema of what that means, a kind of explanatory table, it says in blue under status "Decision Made" and beside that, under "explanation" there are three subcategories "Medical Results Received by CIC"; "Approval Status Determined"; and "Permanent Residence Status Determined". Since there are still two steps after Medical Results Received, how should I understand the status as Decision Made?
Does anyone know how much longer it might be from this point forward, assuming they don't want more medical information?
Can they still request an interview at this stage?
Thanks for any and all information.
