My boyfriend just got AOR (Acknowledgement of receipt) yesterday, yea!!! ;D

As I applied PR inside Canada with Open Work Permit. How long will it take to get the Sponsor Approval or Open Work Permit?

Congrats, that was fast! normally stage 1 for Inland is about 6 months, but it seems that things have been going faster lately, and some people got it in 4 months - so a little more to wait for you, but at least you know they have your file! great news!

there are a few people reporting problems with ecas today, so most likely it's something internal, not something with your file.

Well you filed at the end of December, so you are well within the timeline - it's normal not to have received the approval yet, nothing to worry about!! you probably will hear from them soon. Some people from November are still waiting, so you're fine!
Medicals have been received - it's always a good sign, it means that they have entered your medicals in the system, so you know that they didn't get lost!
You'll probably hear from them this week or next week, so nothing to worry about!

Does your ecas update when they finally match up your medical with your file? I am just thinking since our medical was done in August and we didn't submit until end of November it may take some time for that to happen. Not to start thinking it got lost! Then again, the doctor we had was not the most friendly man!

THe procedure is changing, so it's a bit all over the places! before the new procedure ( 1st of November), medicals were sent to a regional center, and then to the VO. They would "sit there" until the file would come from Mississauga... and the line "medicals have been received" would appear only when the sponsorship approval was done, and the file sent to the VO - so then it would be a "good way" to know that the file had arrived at the VO, and the medicals were matched.

now - from NOvember, the doctors send the medicals through an electronic system that makes it easier to match with the file. SO for the more recent medicals and applicants, they can see " medicals have been received" during the first stage....

In your case, it was done with the old system, so I suppose that they were sent to Pretoria and they are waiting for your file. Since you got the sponsorship approval, your file should be on its way to Pretoria and matched soon. However ( it's CIC after all!), some applicants never got the "medicals have been received" line on ecas, and their file was still complete... so if you see it on ecas, it's a good sign, but if you don't see it, it's not necessarily a bad sign!

I still couldn't check my status but never mind coz I've been trying everyday since I've got the UCI no.
Can't wait to receive AIP & Open Work Permit though

it takes a few days for ecas to work, and make sure that you use the correct combination of information: either UCI + sponsor information ( family name only, no first name or initial), or File number + Applicant info.

What happened with our file was that we did our medicals on Oct21. Then the doctor used the old system and sent the files to Paris using mail. When I got the AOR, I checked and it said medicals received. So probably Paris and Mississauga matched the medicals and the UCID. I'm sure my application did not arrive in Turkey in 1 day!
So probably a combination of the old and new system was used in my case.
