hey!

Today my MP informed me that the embassy just started with the initial review for my case. Not too sure what they have been doing for the past 8 month. Also, she told me that the embassy sent me an email earlier this morning giving me updates, but I nor my wife have received any thing. did this happen to any of you...is it possible that they messed up in writing the email address or has been captured incorectly.

I don't have the application guide with myself but it is written in RQ letter that I received:

This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada. Please send the following documents:
- The attached Residency Questionnaire should be completed and signed by you after
consultation with your sponsor.
Please note that if you do not comply with this request within 45 days of the date of this letter, your application for
permanent residence in Canada will be assessed on the basis of the information already before the officer. Failure
to provide the requested documents could result in the refusal of your application.
Please note: It is your responsibility to ensure that the information you provide our office is accurate and
up-to-date. Please inform us immediately if there are any changes to the information or documents you
have submitted. If there is a change in your legal status or that of any family member (marriage, birth,
death, divorce, etc.) you must notify us before visas are printed.
All correspondence/documents must be sent directly to the Canadian Embassy in Damascus at the address
indicated above. DO NOT send or submit any documents to our offices in Amman, Beirut or Tehran. Any
correspondence you send to these offices will be returned to you.
Your file is being processed in Damascus. No representations, faxes, telephone calls or correspondence can or will
be answered by these Embassies; all inquires must be sent directly to the visa office in Damascus.
Please quote your file number, as well as your telephone & fax numbers on all correspondence and
on every document you send to us.

Please be advised that what "sohrab919" has written is right. The Medical Examinations and/or Police Clearances can only be requested by CIC in Canada or one of its Visa Offices worldwide.

I see you guys talk only about the expiration on medical forms, but forget talking about it on POLICE CLEARANCES, which they have validity, too!

I see you guys talk only about the expiration on medical forms, but forget talking about it on POLICE CLEARANCES, which they have validity, too!

No, they haven't yet, but I'm going to have my wife prepare a new Police Clearance, which takes two weeks to get ready, in advance. However, we are not going to send them any updated information til they ask us to do so.

ok police clearance in lebanon is not so bad you can get it in one day, but still you need to translate it and certify it !!! akhhhhh

My address has been changed (I am sponsoring my wife). I am still residing in Montreal.

Do you think it's necessary to inform the embassy in Damascus about the address change. I mean are they supposed to send me anything?

If I am not supposed to receive anything I prefer not to contact them. and not to add any further modification in our profile.

I wish it is in the final stage....I dont think that it will be finalized before December. Her medical exams will expire in November and i will ask her to do them before 5 days hahaha....

I am just worried that they do have wrong email address, sine he lady mentioned that the embassy already sent out an email. do you guys think CIC knows?

BTW, inorder to make things easier, I bought my wife BlackBerry and now we are using bbm non stop.
it is better than nothing, right?

It's easy to change your address. Either call CIC or go to https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/authenticate.do?app=coa and log in with you own client ID number and name to change your address.

I think you should change your address on CIC Website and inform the embassy in Damascus, because when your wife arrives in Canada, through a Port of Entry (POE), she must provide the immigration officer, who will verify her documentation and grant her permanent residency, with her address in Canada along with the postal code.
