Yes , I know that.....thank you the thing is that you have to provide a police clearance for every country you lived in for more than 6 months I already included the police clearance for the place my wife lived in most of her life.

perfect, now all u need is the last place she lived in for which you say is syria and youre good to go, and its instant , it doesnt take long at all

How to obtain a police certificate
Syria

Do I need to provide a police certificate when applying for permanent residence?
Yes, all applicants aged 18 or older must provide a police certificate.

How and where do I obtain one?

If you live in Syria
If you are a Syrian resident, you should present your identification card or resident permit and pay the applicable fees (55 Syrian pounds) to the Ministry of the Interior, Interior Services Forces, Directorate of Criminal Security Department, Criminal Records Branch, Judicial Records Division.

If you are a non-Syrian resident, you should apply with proof of civil status to the Minister of Interior, Internal Security Forces, Criminal Security Administration. You must apply in the Syrian city in which you permanently reside.

If you live outside Syria
You may apply through Syrian embassies abroad.

Please note that the fees are subject to change.

Yeah I tried that but it takes more than three months to get it through the embassy!! and Im guessing with the current situation it could take forever.

Thanks I guess Ill have to stick to the Embassy

since you guys are outside of syria, the syrian embassy will provide you the police clearance, it takes longer but that your only option
http://www.syrianembassy.ca/

but let me tell u , the embassy does it A lot faster , since you live in canada, i have a friend who did the same thing and got it 4 weeks !

Hmmm , the person I spoke to with the Embassy said 3 months ...I hope the real time is 4 weeks.

Appreciate your help.

they always say that my friend, they say ure passport takes 4 months and they give it to u in 2 weeks, they just give the maximum so they dont look bad, everyone does that even the canadian immigration we have people getting visas in 5 months and other 12 months so they say 10 months, dont worry about what they say, ure other option is to go through someone in syria, send a letter stamped by the embassy and let them do it , like for example ,i had my wife's mother do it from iran rather than me doing it here, and she could, i mean parents have authority , so yeah,
i wish you the best of luck
i hope i was able to help you out

why does it take so long to get a police certificate in syria?? In lebabnon we go an get it the same day or next?

it doesnt, if YOU ARE IN SYRIA, this friend of ours isnt in syria thats the thing

I see.. well you can send a family member or relative like sohrab said.. That is what my husband did.. that is if you have someone IN syria who could do it for u...

Sohrab do you think we are seeing a lot of our friends getting their ppr this week because of the situation going on in syria?? Maybe they are working faster in anticipation of something happening in damascus.
