There is no update in my case either.You are right Kamal, people from other offices get their visas within 4 months except for Pakistan and Syria. Damascus used to be one of the fastest processing offices, but now what happen there is a big mystery.May be the whole office go for a vacation!!!!!!(It is Canadian embassy they should have a schedule. Just because it was Summer, it doesn't mean that they shouldn't work at all)
I was happy at least by the end of September my case will be finalized, but with this progress and 8 people in front of me(probably more) I believe I have to wait until December

hi eli and all,
I was reading on a cic canadian website for damascus office that the officer who decide for decision made rotate in different offices for all the countries that damascus take care of , for example there is an embassy in lebanon but he only be there couple days a month. i am wondering if it is the same person who has to decide for our applications all of us from different countries for final decision.
eid has gone summer is over vacation should be finished by now unless they work one month and one month (months) vacation so let us pray they have no more vacation and get serious and get to work

Actually my husband is going to send the e-mail on Thursday or Friday, he was so busy these days for quitting his job and I told him to write the e-mail when your mind is free.

try to be very brief
my lawyer send them two lines email only requesting an update since we never heard from them so please can you update status.
within one week they reply with an email 5 lines stating that application is waiting for background check to clear and they will contact us if any info is needed. they did say keep your emails to minimum becasue we are so busy .

in the email state from: name, address, tel # client id #,
To: damasucs office, cic ..............
Regarding: update status

make a request within few lines asking to update status and thanks for your reply.

Hi guys,

just thought I should update you all, after sending in my husband's cyprus police record in june, they also asked us to pay the right of residence fee (I'm hoping this is a good sign?), we haven't received anything back yet, not even an email or letter stating that they received the documents!

It's going incredibly slowly... but we are just hoping for good news soon. Gluck to everyone else who is in the same boat as us, and I hope it goes well for us all.

I'll update as soon as I hear anything.

I have another question, do you know the e-mail address which we can send e-mail to? should we use "visa and immigration" e-mail address (dmcus-im@international.gc.ca) or the Inquiry email address which is written on top of the letter they sent us for the file # (damascus-im-enquiry@international.gc.ca )...... I am thinking maybe I should not use the inquiry e-mail address because it's mentioned in the website that use inquiries just if the processing time is over the time line, but do the other e-mail address answer these kind of questions?

My case I hope it ll be fast too in Damascus

My case as this, I lived in Canada for four years I met my wife at the end of second years. We have the relationship for two years , we got married in 15 of 05 2010, we have done all the paper through lawyer, I have done my mid decal exam and police certificate in Canada, My wife, she works at school. I left Canada in July, and now I am waiting

I believe in all my heart all the application will be faster in winter, because most of people got the Visa or appprove in winter time,
why Damascus slow because they deal with Iraq people, they do not put them in watting list as us. Hopefully all youguys will be there at the begining of winter time ;D
