This is because everyone's circumstances are different so the timelines doesn't follow a unified path. Some people have travelled more and their background checks will last longer. Some people have more complicated files, e.g. they didn't provide enough photos or documents and they require an interview. Even some people may need to have their documents checked for authenticity.

Yeah, 4 to 6 months is not too bad. You are right, every case is different so it has different timing as well. If that is the case is much much faster than Damascus cases almost half. I think this process in general depends on a little bit of luck and may not follow precisely a logical route. Otherwise behind the scene some people has accelerated their case by some kind of networking...
